How do I disassemble my JBL LSR2325P to replace the woofer?

Recently ordered a replacement woofer as the old one was torn, but not sure how to safely get inside to do the swap, do you access from the front or from the back?

Sorry, what I mean is I don't know how to get inside the enclosure at all. Do you take off the board at the back or the baffle from the front, and how?

If their are screws in the back then take them out it possibily their are four or six screws that will hold the front of your speaker on if not send me a pic of your speaker front and back ok

Ok saw a pic of your speaker remove all ten screws from the back and use the handle to pull it open do this slow and easy you should be able to replace your speaker

I of course tried taking out the screws, couldn't budge the thing, didn't show any signs of loosening at all... the front moulded baffle doesn't appear to have an entry point either. There must be a way in!!

The screws are behind the cardboard of the woofer

I assume you mean the Pr-12RX passive? That seems wrong to me, too. Put an ohm meter across the terminals of the horn driver and the woofer seperatly to see which, if either, is blown. If they're OK, look for a bad solder joint on the crossover.

I have a pair of jbl 512m speakers one is louder than the other one but it works

Make sure your audio interconnecting cables are XLR or TRS balanced lines. Use of TS cables similar to guitar cables with only two conductors (only the tip and the sleeve) reduce the gain 6 DB and contribute to hum and noise.

This speaker is not an active one. This means that it hasn't integrated amplifier, so you need an external one. The cable from the amplifier goes to the speaker. Remove the woofer in order to get access at the inner parts and check these points:
  • In case that there is a crossover present there must be a burned out coil or capacitance
  • In case the cable from the female jacks at the back panel goes direct to the woofer, there must be the woofer destroyed or the cable disconnected. Check the cables, it's less expensive than to replace the woofer.
Post me back if there is a crossover in use or it is direct connected and any other points of interest you came up, in order to guide you further.

I have the QSC PLX3602 connect from dbx pa as bridge mono to the sub woofer jbl mrx518. It works well. But now when I change it as stereo to the main jbl mrx515, I only hear the bass sound, no more...

I don't think that there's anything wrong with the amp.
I'll think you're using a x-over, connected to the low-output.

Just a shot,

I have a set of JBL TR225 I need to take one of the woofers out but cannot figure out how to disassemble it. It has no screws to support the grill or the back side. Any info are links you can give me will...

Often there are small screws retaining the grille... sometimes they are black and hard to see. Other times the grill sits in grooves at the side and one has to "buckle" the grill outward to disengage the edges from the grooves. Sometimes the metal grille has rubber strips at teh edge and when reassembling, they need to be restored to the grille before it is "buckled" to get it back in the grooves. One needs to use a medium sized flat bladed screwdriver to pry up the middle of the grille at one of the two free sides and get it out of the grooves.

I have a set of JBL control one speakers and the foam suspention has decintergrated can i get it repaird

You need to have the speakers re-coned. Unless they are really really good speakers this will cost you almost as much as new ones. A JBL authorized repair facility should be your next call. Replacing them is probably the answer

I own jamo speakers CL 30. One of the woofers is broken. Can i find anywhere one woofer to replace it?

Best to have it reconed ! The speakers need to be matched pair.

If you are using these for music instrument(s) make sure they are intended for that use. Home stereo speakers won;t take the power that music instrument speakers are designed for by a factor of say four.

If these are mis-applied, don't waste money repairing, but buy instrument grade cabinets.
