Particular model may please be mentioned.

In general, there is two types of packaging

1. The bottom or the back or the front will have screws, you can unscrew and that's it.

2. Some sub-woofers are factory sealed, that means all their panels are glued shut. Now here's the problematic part. Usually you can't open a glued shut sub-woofer without inflicting some cosmetic damage. You may put scratches on it or vice versa.

Still if it is very essential, you may have to use some thin and flat object like a praying knife or a flat head screwdriver. Use them with caution as applying too much pressure at wrong angels may result into ricocheting into your hand / fingers.

The subwoofer for that system also powers the rest of the speakers as well as the
subwoofer as you probably know. Is there any power light coming on? Like on the subwoofer itself where ever the power light is. If not check for a fuse. If no fuse is visable you'll have to take the subwoofer apart, the plate amplifire. There will be screws all around the metal part on the back, you must remove all the screws holding it together. Most of these types of systems have the fuse inside on the board. Also sometimes the fuse does'nt look like a fuse, it could look like a resistor or a ceramic style disk capacitor. Yours will probably have a glass type fuse. If you don't see one look on the board next to the components on the power supply board or if all together look near the transformer area for a F meaning a fuse. /there will be letters and numbers next to each component eg., resistor, capacitor, diode, etc. If you find a glass type fuse replace it with the exact same rating which will be on the end of the fuse on the silver ends of the fuse. If it's not blown you'll need to test to see if your getting voltge out of the transformer. You'll have to have the DVD unit hooked up to it, you don't have to have any speakers connected. The cable from the DVD unit to the subwoofer is what tells the amplifire on the subwoofer to turn on. You could have a blown amplifire IC. I don't know what type of ouput amplifires this uses but I'm thinking IC and not seperate transistors for the output amplifires. You might have one of those blown and if you do then the whole system wont work. Hopefully if that is the problem you'll see a burnt mark on the IIC itsel or some type of burnt spot on the board somewhere to lead you in the right direction to the problem. It could be as simple as a power supply capacitor, who knows til you get into it and start looking around and testing some things. If you don't have the knowledge to do this I am the cheapest electronics business in the USA. It's not a bad system, CrutchField sales it. Also I can waalk you through the steps to narrow the problem down. I help people everyday. You can contact me at ampman37@gmail.com. I can then give you some more info and my business phone number if you feel up to doing this. It's really no big deal and I find that most of my customers who have never done something like this love and learn some electronics and now fix some other stuff they had laying around. I'm here to help. Thank you for contacting me, have a good day.

Hi,

Normally on the back of the routers there is a small reset button you can press and hold for 15 seconds. This will reset the unit.

Click here for linksys tech support page. At the bottom there is a live chat option.

Ok i just got the sub from a sony sswg450 i want to know is there some way to hook it up to my Pioneer home Receiver

Did you get a manual with it? According to the Sony site this speaker originates in Sony MHC-GX450.

"This product bundle includes the following models:
HCD-GX450 - STEREO MINI SYSTEM
RM-SC3 - REMOTE CONTROL for Shelf Mini Systems
SSRG444 - FRONT SPEAKER FOR MHCGX450
SS-WG450 - SUBWOOFER FOR MHCGX450"

Find the manual here and learn a bit about your seprated sub...

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=MHCGX450

See page 7.

As can be seen, the subwoofer has two connections to the mothership, very unlike the standard speaker level (+/-) speaker wire or RCA-Line-Level subwoofer out that 'normal passive or active subwoofers use, respectively.

Not knowing which of those your unspecified Pioneer receiver supports, it is impossible to say. Does your Pioneer have that control jack?

Mini-systems are generally not designed to be pieced out and used with grown-up gear. The absence of standardized connections is the clue.

Manual for 12" 1000w Valfenhag Subwoofer

Unfortunately there are no manuals for subwoofers as far as I know. For optimal performance there is really only one size for the box .Firstly, you get two different types of subwoofers, an open air, or closed air sub. If it is an open air sub ( hole with mesh in the center of the magnet) no ports are required, and the box should be sealed on the inside with silicone sealant. If it is a closed air sub ( no hole in the magnet) you need a 50mm port about 120mm long. Box size will be 13 inches x 13 inches x 13 inches

I don't know how far the PS3 Network is with resolving their current issue, but it's effecting pretty much every PS3 (except slim's) connected to the internet. Some players are losing trophies, some are losing in-game data, and some lose all functionality of their PS3's. Google PS3 Network Issue to read the most current updates. Please adhere to the warnings and limit PS3 usage until the problem is fully resolved. It has something to do with the clock functions.

Please let me know if i've helped you out.

respectfully,

MTX 12'' sub noise

Sounds like your sub is overextending itself, and possibly losing contact at the voice coil. Overextending will make a weird rattling sound, losing contact at the voice coil will make a popping sound.

What voltage required to power a sony subwoofer

Hey,

I just got one of these units, the SONY SS-WG990.
The RCA cable is direct conection to the speaker.
It requires external AMP.
The other cable is just for the system switch and LED.
If you just have this unit, all you need is an AMP to
feed it.

Hello Norticbeat, Here are some simple steps to diagnose the problem. Disconnect the subwoofer from the main unit. You will have those wires in your hands. Now connect a 1.5V battery (like ones in remote controls) to these wires. Polarity doesn't count. You should hear some sounds from your subwoofer. This will indicate that the speaker inside is working and isn't burned out or something. If it works the problem is either with your main unit or with the connection with it. Check the connector to see if it is in good form, connect only the left subwoofer and try to close your ear to it to see if you hear anything when you power on the unit, play music, power off or these kind of operations. If you hear some distorded noise or something you could have a burned out left power amplifier inside the main unit. First of all try to do those 2 checks and please post back your results. I will guide you through the next part. Good luck
