How to recove Seagate external hard drive data?

Hey! Please give me a few minutes to see if you can give a help. Thanks a lot! Well, I wanted to reinstall operating system on my computer last night, so I transfer all files to my Seagate external hard drive before reinstalling. After installing, I plugged my Seagate external hard drive to the computer to transfer data to the hard drive. However, my computer cannot recognize the Seagate external hard drive anymore. The files are really important to me. Can you tell me how to get back those lost files?

Have you ever used this Seagate external drive on this computer before? Have you tried to format it into an compatible file system at the first time when you use it on your PC? If not, you probably need format it this time.
Of course, in case of losing anything important inside, do not format this drive before you take important drive information out.
Merely stop adding new data on this external drive and go try external drive not formatted error recovery software to recover desired original data back with ease.
And then, format this drive and learn to make drive data backups on different drives or locations well.

Probably, the new operating system cannot recognize your Seagate external hard drive. You can connect the Seagate external hard drive to another computer to copy data to another device. If the problem still exists, you might need to perform data recovery. You can free download the data recovery software: http://www.icare-recovery.com/seagate-recovery/seagate-external-cannot-be-recognized.html

Hi, I accidentally dropped my 2 tb Seagate expansion disc and now its making funny noises andm it wont even read on my windows 8 computer. Can some 1 help me please?

unfortunately it appears that the internals are shot
if the funny noise is a clicking sound or squeal then the repair is a new hd unit as they are generally not repairable.

External Hard Drive I/O Error

Somehow i tried to format and it was formatted. took pretty long time as 1 terabyte. i thought all is ok as the drive was accessible. Just to double check, i scanned the drive thorugh the seagate manager and it got stuck on 10% for few seconds and then said that the hard disk is faulty and should be immediately returned if under warranty. and to confirm it also gave me read errors http://www.dtidata.com/resourcecenter/2007/05/15/how-to-tell-hard-drive-physical-damage/

so i'm giving it to seagate service centre as it probably has physical faults, bad sectors. and someone told me that 1TB hard drives are not stable.

Slightly dropped seagate external hard drive, recover data??

Will the drive be shown under "Disk Management"? If no, make it. Then the MOST effective way is to try some so-called data recovery software to rescue the data.

First of ALL - Connect your hard drive to your personal computer. And install this software Wondershare Data Recovery on the computer in order to perform data recovery. Get the program from its site.
data recovery (for Windows OS)
Mac data recovery (for Mac OS X)

Good luck. I hope that my reply has shed some light on the problem!

Remember - Always make Backups of your precious data!
