I do not have power supply cord for Altec Lansing computer speaker system with sub woofer for model AVS300. it has a plug port of DC 18V 650 mA. Can I use a AC current power supply?

Hi Dan Bushey, I'm glad you found a solution, what does not close me is that Altec Lansing, which needs a DC 18volts and 650mA power supply, works with a source that delivers 9 volts and 19KW (???)
Maybe it will be 19 volts and 1.9 Amp?
Comment please

Laptop reboots when ac adapter reattached.

Hello,
There are three parts in the computer that you need to check.
1. Ac Adapter - it could be defective.
2. Battery - it could be that the battery and ac adapter won't work together because the battery has gone bad. We cannot tell without checking that.
3. Motherboard - it could be that the motherboard's power port is defective.
Do the following so that you can isolate the problem.
1. Remove the battery and use the Ac Adapter only and turn on your computer. If it turns on without any problem, then replace your battery.
2. If the computer still reboots with the ac adapter plugged in (no battery), then replace the ac adapter. or try using a different ac adapter which is compatible with your computer and check if it produces the same problem. If the other adapter produces the same problem, then it's in your motherboard and you need to get it fixed by a technician.

Lenovo laptop(8932) will go into a sleep like mode (you can still see the screen, very dim) when plugged into ac adaptor. Doesn't do it with battery power. Changed system board, power adaptor - no...

Good Day Psmith!

It looks like the AC adaptor is not making the right supply voltage needed for your laptop.

If you have a multi tester, you can test your ac adaptor to see if it has stable 20V voltage output supply needed for the laptop to make it work.

Set your tester to DC range. Plug the ac adaptor to your wall socket. Hold the other end of the ac adaptor (the one you connect to your laptop. Insert the red (positive) lead into the center of the adapter pin, then touch the black (negative) lead to the outside metal part of the pin.

Read the display in your tester. If the adapter is working properly, the meter should read between 19 to 20 volts of the rating. If the adapter is faulty, the meter will read below 18volts.

If that would be the case, I'm afraid you will need to replace your ac adaptor.

You can purchase online a replacement ac adaptor for lenovo 8932.

I have a compaq persario v2000 that will not turn on.

1. The power-connector has broken-away from the motherboard. So, no power reaches the motherboard.
2. Dead motherboard.
3. Dead CPU

Good luck.
