If your stabilizer is bad you will notice the pictures will not be as framed in the viewfinder. You can compensate by slightly framing off center a bit. Most of the time the picture is lower and off to one side slightly. This is a pricy fix if repaired. You can still take nice pictures but just compensate or recrop the picture with an editor. This is not an uncommon problem. Considering you have a a200 you can pickup a nice used on for probably less than the repair cost.

Could you tell us more about your problem? The stabilizer might not be faulty and there might be a way of you making it useable, but there's no way of telling without additional info. The only thing to do is refer you to the user manual and hope it offers some help:
