Only by switching it off and then trying to lift the cartridges and pulling them to the left.
Make sure there is nothing blocking them.
Disconnect the power for a few minutes and see if it fixes it.
The printer will have to go to an HP repair center.
If you have guarantee then dont do anything that will damge it.

HP Photosmart C3180 carriage permanently stuck on right. How to fix this?

Hi,

If the carriage totally stuck on the right side of the printer, Unplug the printer from Power outlet.

Open the front access door. You will see the cartridges. Remove the cartridges. Check for any paper stuck in the Carriage Rod. Try to manually move the carriage 5-6 times left to right and it should move without any trouble. Put the cartridges back into the Cartridge slot and power on the printer

If the Carriage does not move manually, there could be chances the printer needs mechanical repair as its broken.

Regards,
Sean

The following print cartridge is not intended for use in this printer for HP-Photosmart C3180. Cartridge on Right . Not able to use Compatible ink cartridge for this model? any solutions?

The ink cartridges that can be used with this printer are HP92(black), HP93(tricolor), and HP99(photo). You can use other brands that cross over to the HP numbers but they would be the only cartridges you should use for proper operation.

Photo ink

Remove the tab from your photo cartridge. Power the printer. Open the printer cover and the cartridges should move to be accessible. Remove the color cartridge: move it gently toward you and remove. Insert the photo cartridge. Close the printer cover.

Want to know where u put the photosmart ink in printer

Hello,

Open the print cartridge door. Make sure the print carriage moves to the right. If it does not move to the right, turn the device off, then turn it back on again. IMPORTANT: The device must be turned on to insert cartridges.

You can see the location and proceedure to change the ink cartridges on page 14 of the manual (found here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00694908.pdf). Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words <grin>.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Will not print black

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came withthe printer. When the software program asks you to connect theprinter to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

How do I install ink HP photosmart c3180

Hey DDD,

It looks like HP put together an animation to help with replacing the ink cartridges. I know you are just trying to install them for the first time, but it might be helpful:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00652671&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=1146331

Also, since you are just setting up the new product, double check that you've removed all the packing material and tape from the cartridges. I've made that mistake before ;-)

Cheers,

_K

Carriage

Try to remove the cartridges and clean them...

Re-insert the cartridges and try to move the carriage rod manually to and fro without any force.
