Troybuilt tb80ec wont start

If you didn't over winter the engine properly it could be several things. Start with replacing the fuel filter. If it still won't start... time to put in a carburator kit. Next time make sure you run your weed eater dry and spray some wd-40 or the like into the spark plug hole.

Troy-built tb80ec will only run in half choke position

Reality. Place unit in trash. Every post about this model has same gripe. After short usage it: 1) only runs on half choke. 2) won't start after getting hot 3) has inaccessible fuel adjustment other than idle.

The unit is crap.

I have a Troy Built weed trimmer Model TB80EC. Is there a repair/operators manual available depicting how to change the string on the spool? Thanks.

There indeed is an owners manual for your trimmer. It will include other information as well. You can find a copy of it here. You will need to give your model number and serial number to get it.
