Washer fills with water and overflows:

The water pressure level switch is a pressure activated switch that is used to determine the correct water level in the tub. This part is normally located behind the control panel and will have a hose or air dome tube that connects it to the tub. On washers that use an electronic control, this switch may be located at the sump area below the tub. As the water fills in the tub it will compress the air in the tube and push against a diaphragm inside the switch. The switch will control the water inlet valve and turn the valve off at the correct water level. If the tube has a leak, not enough pressure may be created to activate the switch and the washer may overfill. If the switch is defective it may also cause the machine to overfill. To determine if the switch is bad, you should first eliminate the air dome hose as a problem. Look for signs of cracks or worn areas on the hose. Remove the hose and submerge in water. Seal one end and blow air into the other end and look for bubbles. Check for an obstruction in the hose as well. If the air dome hose appears to be ok, then the water level switch may be defective.

You can test it with a meter and with a manual test? ( first locate it in the panel, it has a plastic clear tube hose going into it, remove that tube from its connection, now put another small tube or hose into the slot where it was and have the machine set to wash cycle with water in it. Blow into the other end of the tube.
If the machine starts to wash. the pressure switch is more than likely good
( No wash- then THE DIAPHRAGM IS BAD AND SWITCH HAS TO BE REPLACED).

The other item to check would be your water inlet valve. Check it for continuity with a multi meter it should show Ohms or a closed circuit. To test it when water is overflowing unplug the unit and see if it still overflows or continues to fill. If it stops when unplugged. Then it is not a water inlet problem but an electrical signal problem going to ur water inlet valve. Possibly from the panel or board.

Set the waterlevel to large load and the water spilled over the drum. The water did not stop automatically. Tried medium load and the same happened. Can you please help?

Your pressure switch is either bad or the line from the bottom of the tub is plugged and the machine has no idea how much water it is putting in. The pressure switch is located on the inside of the control panel, it should look something like the picture below, the tube that runs to the switch from the tub can be taken off and you can blow through it to clear it of any pluggage if it is not plugged the the switch is bad and needs replaced. Are you sure your water valves are working OK, I assumed so because you didn't mention that the water wont turn off. dcramer531_126.jpg

Gets to final rinse e20 come up wil not empty last rinse water out of the tub i can stop it dip the water out and it will spin out

Hi,
  • Get the washer laying on it's side and using the access hole on the bottom carefully remove the screw clamp holding the large hole of the rubber housing to the tub drain (it will be obvious all other clips are green compression clips).

  • Carefully work the strainer out of this flexible rubber drain housing through the large hole.Clean it out and replace you will be good to go. Also remove all the hoses and check for a buildup of gunk. Hope this will fix your problem.

Thank you !!

Washed clothes while on the 'clean washer' setting

I'm sure that the exact make up of clean washer or tub clean cycles vary from brand to brand, but basically that cycle fills to a higher water level, hottest water, and highest spin, turning off load sensors / out of balance sensors so the machine can spin with water in the tub (allowing tub cleaning agents to contact all tub surfaces). (all other cycles pump the water out before spinning) Having a load of clothes in the machine at this time could result in overloading machine (gererally causing an error code), damage to suspension components, damage to hoses or connections resulting in water leaks, etc. Due to the large water level, your clothes would be agitated more ****, but the hot water might damage some fabrics. A FixYa rating would be appreciated for this info. Thanks.

The water won't shut off in my Neptune

davedun: Take a look at the [water load or water level] switch from the inside & u may see a rubber tube coming out and going to the bottom of the washer tub.The rubber tube should be connected to a VACUUM switch. This switch works by pressure from the weight of the tub when it is being filled up with water. When u set the water level switch on a "lite load" ,as the tub is being filled the diaphragm is pushed down causing a vacuum to pull down another switch which causes the water to stop, causing your machine to start washing, rinsing, etc. This vacuum switch could be of many configurations\shapes\sizes & will almost always be at the bottom of the tub to measure the weight of water going in.
The key is a rubber (clear-see through, or black) coming from the top of the control panel going to the switch.
2nd. electronics sensors on the side of the inner tub ( that catches the water ) to measure water weight. Hard to find, because they could look like anything. Even I have trouble finding them!!
P.S. TURN THE POWER OFF AND UNPLUG !!!!
P.S.S. get back to me if u need some more help.
