Not sure how to respond to the clarification request other than here, as it's my first time on FixYa, but yes tried new batteries, and the updated drivers. No luck.

I put new batteries in and the control panel will show full power, green and as soon as I hit a key, any key, it will go to red and popup the box.

Tried that, and as soon as it resync's it's green then a keypress and it goes Red, so I can just really just ignore the indicator and popup and just drive on using standard common sense on batteries. :)

    Thanks for the help.

Your response to the clarification request was placed correctly.
Your keyboard must have a button on the bottom to sync with the USB transmitter. Press the button on the transmitter first and then the button on the keyboard. This will re-sync the devices in a new radio channel. Give it a try, it might just be a communincatin problem between the two.

The intellipoint software and drivers are not really needed for the the keyboard to work, even if it has special keys for functions like volume and such. As soon as your batteries start to run out you will be able to tell by the keyboard not responding properly to key-presses.

This my could be a couple of thing.

1) If you are useing the same recever for both mice (new and old) it could be that.

2)it could be a driver issue witch sounds like the most probable.

or

3) check your USB/Firewire and dont use the same one try the ones on the back of your pc or the ones on the front depending on what you are useing already

Check the batteries in the keyboard. If the batteries are good. Pull the connection for the Keyboard and plug back in. Tyr to resync Still nothing restart computer and resync the keyboard again if need be.

Microsoft 3000 keyboard has stopped functioning. Replaced the batteries and same issue. Mouse working fine

At the back of the keyboard, there will be small flushed 'reset' button. Press that. It resets and reconfigures the connection. If it still doesn't work, the keyboard has gone bad.

Have a nice day :)

Acer Aspire 3000 keyboard failing

The problem is the battery as mentioned before. Disabling "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Battery Method" should solve the problem of the keybord and the mouse, this is, because the driver dosen't work properly with a bad battery. I think it fires a lot of hard interruptions that are blocking the keybord and the mouse interruption to the system (each time a key is pressed an interruption is send to the processor... if the battery driver sends a lot of interruptions, the key interruptions don't have time to be processed in time - that explains the fact that the system responds to a key press is that bad)
