That is ediculous. He can charge it, leak chk and repair in one trip. I hope he isn't popping you for a service call each time.
Hi, Lets go up to Nov.20th,09. I was helping you on the problem of short cycling of compressor, and blower running and some other issues, I hope you get this but I couldn't get to you.You said it had a freon leak before? This leak should have tried to be located at the time, or as the other tech said, at least use a dye pack and UV lamp. E.P.A will fine you high on this!! Back to the other problem, remove all stat wires from board again. But I want to mention something. when it was cycling on and off but finally reached temp, your heat strips may have been doing the heating. Maybe low enough on freon to short cycle. After removing wires, if you have a short piece of stat wire, with all of the wires we need inside, even if you have enough slack to cut a piece off about 8" or so.The reason for this is so you can screw this piece to the board like the stat wires should have been. Strip the other end. We are bypassing the t-stat, & control wires. You have R, W2, E, Y!,B/O G, And C which is common, blue.Test with power on. Just 24V, it will not hurt you, trust me.Take the Red 1st to work with. The B and O energize the reversing valve. The valve is De-energized in the cooling mode, and energized in heating, so R, O or B use the one that when you touch it to R you will hear it energize, so, R to O or B.1st, which ever you use, move the other out of the way. Now, before you twist together we need to test the one we will use 1st.Use G for Fan.You will have to use Y1 for cooling, just to energize the compressor, but the reversing valve will be in heat so we are good. R,G,YI, & B or O. If nothing comes on, then bring in W2.You should not need common. If you touch it to R or any other, it will blow fuse or transformer. If you get it up and running, and you continue to cycle off and have the same problems, replace the board. If it runs fine for hours, then replace the stat. I am sure this will get to the bottom of the new problem. best of Luck,
