I have some wiring in the power trim and tilt wire harness in the engine cont overheating and melting the insulation

you should never cut the wires on your factory harness... metra and other companys have harnesses that fit your car and would provide you with a correct wire color code you need to hook up a aftermarket stereo keep that in mind but i will post the wire diagram u are looking for

Check the cable from the helm to the motor. Put a tone set or multimeter on it. If that cable is still fine then check that your new relays are functioning correctly.

There is an updated resistor/connector package. Very expensive from GM, try your local NAPA or other parts supplier for a replacement
