What IS Mercury Retrograde?

In horoscopes the planets move through the Zodiac. However due to the fact that some planets have different orbits, that in the sky they appear to move backwards. Which is what astrologies call retrograde motion. Of course the planet doesn't go backwards at all. However when calculating the birth chart or doing any astrological chart, any planet going backwards is noted. Astrologers attach great significance to a planet going backwards. Though not all do. For example as Mercury controls communication, it going backwards might interfere with that.

Name all the planets people have walked on

Earth. That's it. The moon isn't a planet.

No way of really knowing the number of people who have walked on Earth. It's a tad over 7 billion right now but how do you count all the ones who have lived and died?

What are planets named after

The 5 planets visible to the eye have been known for all human history, and have therefore had many names in different cultures. Eventually except for Earth, the names of the planets came to be from Roman and Greek mythology, like much else we have inherited.

Then when Uranus was discovered this tradition was already established, although its discoverer Herschel wanted to call it planet George, after the King. What a cringe.

When Pluto was discovered there was a sort of unofficial poll or contest, with the result we know, because Pluto is the god of the underworld, cold and dark.

Can we stop the rapid destruction of this planet ?

The way things are going this planet will survive until the sun goes nova or burns out. Whether humans survive that long or go the way of the dinosaurs is a different matter.

Telescope

Hi there,
the image in your telescope is suposed to be upside down (you'll find it's back to front too!). The reason for this is to get as much light to the eye as possible, the more lenses/mirrors the light has to go through/reflect off, the greater the light loss, and in astronomy you need all the light you can get.
For terestrial viewing, you can purchase, quite cheeply, an image erecting adaptor. This will make your image the right way up. For the best terestrial viewing, you can still purchase prismatic adaptors. Best bet would be ebay.
If I can be of any further help, don't hesitate

Cheers.....Dave

Unable to Tune TV to Sky + RF output

Hi.

The problem is that the modulator output frequency of your sky box is exactly the same as for example chanel 5 on your terestrial aerial.
You need to change this number to a different one thats clear of local terestrial transmissions

1) Select the Services button on your Sky or Sky+ remote control.

2) Type in 401 [select] on your key pad and you will get to the installer menu. You cant gain access to this via the drop down menu as it is designed for the Sky Engineer to use.

3)
Select Option 4 to configure the RF outlets on your Sky Digibox.

4) The option RF Chanel Number change this number from example 35 to 60 .
You may need to do this using other numbers 26 34 55 etc
Every time you alter the number store it then try & tune TV to sky.
Any other sets in the house connected by RF leads will require retuning for sky.
Save new settings and you should find that your RF outlet to TV works fine.
