Typically the outdoor fan motor does not need to be oiled because it is sealed and permanently lubricated.

How can I oil the shaft for this air fan?

i think this tipe of motors are bearings so it doesnot matter how much oil you put in it, what you need to do is to remove the condenser fan motor opened and replace new bearings

Hello, I never had any issues with my central air unit before, but now all of sudden when I turn on my central air conditioner & heater, it causes my chandelier to shake violently. I feel as if it

If the air handler is above the chandelier you need to inspect the fan and motor. Could be a bad bearing or imbalance while spinning. There might be an oil port or two on the fan and motor. Try oiling the bearings.

Kenmore air conditioner fan noise

This can be due to faulty bearings on the fan motor or if the fan leaf is rubbing on the outer frame.
Remove the covers and manually turn the fan motor , if noise is heard then USE SOME LOW GRADE OIL ON THE BEARINGS , it will lessen the noise. If not replace the bearings/motor as the case is seen.

I have a GMN 100 the fan squeaks when air conditioning. What maintenance should I perform?

Hi,
You can try to get some light motor oil around the shaft and see if it will work into the bearing... usually the top bearing is the one to go bad...
Sometimes there will be an oil cup , but not on most motors anymore...

if the oil does not work then the motor will have to be replaced..

Unit will only hum and won't start up on its own unless I spin the squirrel cage ( with unit off ) by hand. After spinning cage for varying amounts of time it will free up the resistance and I will turn...

Hi,
The motor needs the bearing oiled...to do this you will need to get a bottle of oil at your local HVAC supply house that has a long pull out spout on it... then place a few drops of oil on the shaft by the motor... if possible then tilt the unit so that the oil will run back the shaft and then get the motor to run... the oil will work its self into the bearing...this will lube the bearings and free them up... you will have to do this for both sides of the motor...
If the motor has little tubes sticking out also place a few drops of oil in each tube...

My sharp comfort touch air conditioner make loud noise from fan. It is very loud. I have 2 and both are very loud. I took the unit out of the wall to inspect, and could find nothing obstructing the fan.

Hi, you may want to check the bearings on the fan motor it self. They will wear or get dry and make very loud noises. Check the motor body at each end to see if this motor has oil caps at each end to add a few drops of oil. Some motors do and other motors have sealed bearings and when they go, there is not much you can do when they fail. If it does have a place to oil them, get the oiler at a hardware store. They come in a small plastic bottles that telescope to reach the bearings. This may take the noise away if the bearings are not already gone. Let me no what you find and we can go from there. I wish you the best,

Noisey like a bearing going out. can i replace fan bearing or whatever bearing it is.

Modern air conditioners do not allow 'bearings to be changed.'

These days - you can't even 'oil' them (as in the old days).

Basically, when bearings go out - you have to replace the motor.

Be 'sure' it is a bearing noise and not the fan blade hitting the unit.

Also - it's possible (but not likely) that it's the bearings in the compressor making the noise.

If you're not sure - you will need to run the fan by itself. Just turn the switch to "FAN ONLY." If it still makes the noise then it's the fan.

Hope this helps.

My Fedders air conditioner, that I purchased approximately 3 years ago, has developed a fan motor bearing problem. I would like a technician to come to my home, and repair the problem. Is this possible?

If this is a window air conditioner, an option is to remove from window and take to appliance repair shop for evaluation. It can also be repaired
at your home but is generally more expensive. In both cases, it is best
to have model and serial number available just in case still under
extended warranty.

Loud screeching noise coming from the unit.

A screeching or squealing noise usually comes from the fan motor. There may be an oil port and you can buy a small telescoping oil bottle at a super hardware store or an a/c supply house. Before putting in he oil, remember to TURN OFF THE POWER TO THE UNIT and only use a light squeeze on the bottle - over oiling will cause a mess inside the motor. It may be a sealed motor and no oil ports. In either case, budget for a new motor as if it's to the squealing stage, the bearings are already damaged and it's a just matter of time before before the motor bearings fail. If possible, get oil on the bearings ASAP - and use the proper lightweight oil for made for this application.

Check the end of the fan motor for oil holes. They may have colored plastic plugs in them or aluminum plugs. If your motor has plugs on each end of the motor you can oil the bearings with SAE20 non detergent oil. Add 7-10 good sized drops of oil to each end. It takes time for the oil to work through the wicking to the bearings.
