Changing dryer belt

pop up the lid and you will notice a short heat element with blue thermastat, you will also notice 2 white wires that goes down to a fuse, that fuse is blown out, it is round on the side of the element housing. you need to get a Maytag fuse kit which will come in the package as a thermastat blue in color and 2 fuses, you will only use one of the fuses, one is for a gas and one is for electric, pink dot for electric, yellow dot for gas.

How to change the fuse in a maytag neptune dryer

it could be a thermal fuse, or it could be your element. the only way to know for sure ( without just replacing parts ) is to test them with an ohm meter on tone.
to get to these parts, you need to open the door and remove the 4 screws ( 2 on either side ). then you can remove the front panel. you now have access to the element and the thermal fuse which is on the element canister.
if you get tone, then the part is good. Joe

Belt squeek during rinse cycle

Mine the same concern, I took it apart and found the thermo fuse in the motor had a bad terminal. Maytag parts man said you must get a new motor even though the fuse has a part # on it and is easy to change. I made temporary repairs until I find a fuse from a used parts machine. Scott
