If your Xerox Phaser 6180, 6180mfp, 6280, or 6280mfp is displaying "Replace Transfer Unit" or "Ready transfer Unit Life" you most likely need to replace the transfer unit.
For the 6180 and 6180mfp the part number is 675K47088. For the 6280 and 6280mfp the part number is 675K70583.Here is a video that shows you how to replace this part. It is very easy and requires no tools.

There can be another case of this message.
If the paper isn't being 'lifted' due to a fault, or just wear, in the paper tray.
Pull out the paper tray (as if you were loading it, push the paper tray back in. Now open the front door of the printer and look inside at the bottom of the printer. Has the paper lifted, so that it is in contact with the pickup/feed rollers.
If it hasn't, a replacement paper tray will probably sort it out.
