Canon printer mg5300. Suddenly ink on photos not drying. Should I clean something? Thanks.

No has nothing t do with dirty heads or nozzles. I think you used the wrong paper (or plastic) and did not tell the printer what it was printing on. Be aware ink yet printers need special paper, so the droplets (how small they may look with only a few pico litre) don't give a splash pattern and the ink will dry very quick. What looks like normal paper, has an absorbent on top of it. Only use photo paper when it says photo paper for ink yet printers. The best results you get, when you use the Canon paper, canon ink and use this in the settings while printing.

Hp photosmart 7760 the prints will not dry

hi

goto the cntrol panel--->printers and faxes--->right click the printer icon
click on the printing preferences and check the print quality ,try to set it to fast draft...this should save the ink as well as dry it faster.
hope this works

Difference between electrostatic and inkjet printer

This sounds like a "homework" assignment.

An electrostatic printer puts electrical charges onto a drum.
Then, dry "powder" ink is put onto the drum.
The ink sticks only to the charged points.
A piece of paper is rolled against the drum.
The "fuser" heats the paper, and melts the ink into the paper, permanently "fixing" onto the paper.

An ink-jet printer shoots microscopic drops of wet, heated, ink onto the paper.
The ink dries into the paper.

The ink won't dry on glossy paper

It will take longer on glossy paper but make sure that the paper you are using is designed for an inkjet printer. If it is designed for a laser printer the ink will not absorb in and dry properly.

Printer has new ink but won't print black tones there is ink on the heads and going in to the printer but for some reason not coming out on the paper

Good day SIr/Maam, the path blocking the ink will not reach the paper, usually the ink travels from the ink cartride to the carrier or cradle, then to the paper. since you mention that the cartride has ink, check also the carrier of the ink, it may have dried ink on it. you need to remove the carrier and clean the dried ink. If you cant remove the carrier, bring it to your dealer, they have inhouse techs there to help you out.

Printer keeps saying unable to print

Take out both the catridges from the Printer......... Take 2 Paper Towels one should be wet with Luke warm water and the other one should be dry........... Take the Colour catridge first turn it upside down and u will see a small copper plate on the catridge from where the ink comes out....... Place the wet paper towel using ur thumb on the Copper plate and press it a lit bit for 10 Seconds...... Now remove it and see whether u see any ink on the paper towel.......... U should see some ink on it now place the dry paper towel on the ink catridge in the same way........ Now do the same procedure again.......... Do the same procedure twice on the Black Catridge................. Now take the dry paper towel and turn the direction of the cartridge so that u can see a Copper plate on it with small boxes just clean that copper plate with the Dry Paper Towel.......... Know insert both the catridges inside the Printer
Good Luck

Ink from the magenta section of the ink tank tube is drawn back - its not reaching till the cartridge. Hence the color printouts are without the magenta/red colors in it.

In this case what i would request u to do is.......
Know insert both the catridges inside the Printer...........

Good Luck.........

Ink won't dry

Unless the problem coincides with a change in ink cartridge, my guess is an incompatibility between the ink and the paper. Could you have changed the paper you're printing on. If so, is the new paper of a different quality? If you're using coated (eg photo) paper, are you printing on the right side? Check the "paper quality" setting on the printer (or the software you're using to drive it) - it needs to match the specification of the stuff you're printing onto. Photo quality papers are capable of absorbing much more ink than plain paper (which is how you get the colour intensity). If the printer thinks it's using photo paper, it will throw out enough ink to get that colour build - leaving a sticky mess if what is really loaded is just plain paper. A.
