SOURCE: changing the saw blade on a Ryobi Mitre saw

There may be a push button type blade lock, and on many of these saws the retaining bolt for the blade is backwards threads, e.i., looking at the top of blade retaining bolt, turn it clockwise to loosen. This would normally tighten, but in the case of many of these saws, it loosens it.

SOURCE: How do I replace my mitre saw blade?

It should still easily fit a 5/8" blade. The arbor shape shouldnt have any effect on the type of arbor hole needed on the saw blade (only round arbor holes are made on saw blades. You will probably find the arbor securing nut has a shape that fits into the flat gaps between the saw blade and the arbor when fixed. So grab a 5/8" round arbor saw blade and give it a go. It should work fine.
It is the arbor nut that secures the blade onto the arbor via friction which holds it on.

SOURCE: loose replacement blade

I completely removed the blade and put it back on, tightening the locknut, and now it works perfectly. The blade has not come loose and have used the machine for the last 3 months. The only thing I can think of is that somehow I didn't have the blade correctly installed in the first place, although it didn't wobble or anything.

SOURCE: ryobi 18v circular saw owners manual - blade is loose!

Usually there is a button to press that locks the shaft arbor and then you use a wrench to tighten OFTEN is a left hand thread!

Check for lock button behind the blade guard toward the motor.

SOURCE: To get the blade guard on a Ryobi circular saw to stay up.

Hello. The blade guard is specifically designed to not stay up but instead to only come up as the wood pushes it up. This is a problem when you are trying to do a plunge cut but it is a safety feature. Joe

I need a manual for CJ500 jig saw. I can't work out how to change the blade.

Ryobi has a customer support questionnaire that you can fill in to ask a question http://ryobi.custhelp.com/app/support/ask/incidents.c$enquiry_type/11
I suggest that because their database of instruction manuals seems to be having problems. I did find a picture of one of those saws and it appears that there are 2 hex screws that hold the blade in. it's the hex caps in FRONT of the top of the blade. Loosen those hex cap screws and the old blade should fall out.

I am trying to replace the blade in my scroll saw because the other blade broke and I can't seem to figure it out. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Manking an assumption that yours looks like this one below?

If so, you'll need to flip up the yellow catch to release the jig blade. Sometimes they get a bit stiff, so wearing gloves try and waggle the blade free. There is normally a tensioner at the back that guides the jig blade (like a roller) that can also be loostened off to get the blade out

Install is reverse of removal

If this helps, pls leave feedback, if not let me know and I'll try and help some more!
