i got this virus a few days ago, and ive been trying to install norton 2008 but every time i trun on my computer it shuts down as soon as windows open up.
Can u help me install norton and delete the virus?

Hi, When you say it shuts down, does it try to reboot again or does it just shut down without trying to reboot? Also, can you get into bios? What operating software is it? xp...vista...? Hank

What operating system are you using? If XP, see this link for intructions on starting the computer in safe mode (choose safe mode with networking) http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true Once in safe mode, scan and clean your computer using MalwareBytes AntiMalware, download it here: http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&tag=button Why would you be attemptin to install Norton 2008? The 2008 version slows down your computer quite a bit, I'd recommend getting the 2009 version which has been re-writen from scratch and does not slow down your PC.

Is this a laptop or desktop?
Check that the fans are running, if the computer turns off completely it might be an overheating problem and the computer turns off to avoid damage to the components.
Also, try booting from the computer using your norton install CD and scan the computer.
