Question about Comet GXD2527G Pressure Washer Pump

1 Answer

Committed Cardinal Sin No. 1, ran p/w w/o water. Ran for about 20 sec. and quit. Now pull start is seized. I could understand how the pump might be damaged, but why the motor?

It's not damaged...just hydraulically "locked"...my guess is the recirc valve is shot or worn enough to put is where it won't release. Just carefully start taking stuff off the pressure head...till the pressure bleeds off
Good Luck

Boat motor started many times in yard loaded off in water started , run about 10 sec dyed out would not restart?

Hey John,
Did you connect water to the engine when you ran it in the yard?? .. If not, go ahead and take it to the local dealer and tell them what you did...Depending on the size of the motor, you might get out for a few thousand. By not connecting water to the engine, you have destroyed the water pump impeller which provides cooling to the engine block. No water to the engine block means you have seized/scored the cylinder walls/pistons .. and maybe ruined the bearings.

Please add some detail and reply to me. Thanks

I got my oil changed they forgot to put the rubber washer on the new filter so the oil leaked out I started my car it ran for 20 sec and then made a sound and shut off now it wont start

If its turning over then you probably didnt seize tne engine, if you havent already. you need a new filter or the gasket and i wouldnt try starting until that was taken care of.

Honda pressure washer

disconnect the engine from the pump and see which unit is not turning for starters. I suspect the pump because it has water left in the pistons and rust will set in on the flap valves .You may have to pull the pump down to repair this problem

Ran out of gas, car wouldn't crank replaced fuel pump, fuel relay, and in line fuel filter and still won't crank on 2002 chevy avalanche

still won't crank ? how's your battery ? starter ? starter solonoid ? if your engine does'nt crank , its dead ! would'nt you check the battery first ? then move on with checking the starter circuit ? seems like your putting the cart before the horse ! first of all, when you run out of gas, you need to replace the FUEL FILTER, your engine just sucked the dirt, garbage, etc., out of the tank. there's plenty of sediment in the tank, don't know how it gets there, but, you'd be surprized ! talking threw experience !!! I operate heavy equipment, its a cardinal sin to run out of fuel !!! you say you replaced the inline filter, which one, up by the engine or the main filter, under vehicle along frame ? are we talking about the same animal, PLEASE CLARIFY !

Ran out of gas......

Sounds like fuel pump burned out when you ran out of gas. probably ran dry for about 20 sec till engine quit. Check for power to fuel pump in tank. Most likely fuel pump will need replacement . Hope this helps

Acts like it can't get gas.

Your last sentence has me wondering, did u purchase gas for both vehicles at the same gas station? How far apart did u fill them up (same day, 2 days apart...) I am wondering if you got some bad gasoline. It would explain your problems and the coincidence of both vehicles giving u this type of problem. How about draining the gas out of the vehicle w/ the least in the tank, replace the fuel filter again add fresh gas from a different station. This is of course assuming your fuel pump is ok. When the gas is removed do u see any sediment? Any water would be at the bottom of the tank (gas floats on water) so u should check for water also. Let me know what u discover. good luck!! countrycurt0
