The answer is not relevant. My device is a Kirby Heritage II vacuum cleaner, not an electric automobile. The answer is generic; I need a wiring pictorial with specific information about the black wire described. Note this is not a black wire going to the neon lamp (of which there are two); this is a third, single wire.

You are correct, no power to unit without the black wire connected. But where on the motor does it connect? Again, I seek a wiring pictorial and schematic/wiring diagram to be able to check the connections.

    Thanks,
    Malcolm

The white wire does not go to the motor, but to one terminal on the headlight. Its other terminal has a red wire that goes into the motor; there is no connector or terminal. Nor is there a black wire near it or anywhere else on the motor. Nor is there a terminal with no wire connected. Is it possible that the black wire is supposed to connect to one of the motor brushes? One of the motor brush wires was disconnected but I restored it.

Do you have access to a wiring diagram and pictorial? I believe that would be required to ensure that the black wire is connected to the correct place.

    Thanks,

    Malcolm

I need explicit information as to where the black wire from the power switch connects on the motor unit. Previous responses have been too vague. I believe a wiring pictorial and schematic should be sufficient to solve this problem. Thank you.

Need explicit information as described above. The general guide was a user's manual, lacking service information.

    OK, but where?

There is no electronic circuit board and no electrolytic capacitors in the Heritage II. Many shots in the dark from "experts" but no light. Doesn't anyone know how these things are wired? Help!

In a power switch there will be a circuit board look for the electrolytic capacitor.Electrolytic capacitor have a polarity the positive and negative. That black wire connect to negative side of electrolytic capacitor whatever the higher voltage value capacitor like 200 volts or 300 volts .Thats only way we can solve the problem I dont have picture guide diagram for unit.

    Good luck..

Where, oh, where does the black wire go? Wiring in - wiringdiagram1.jpg The figure above is a simplified diagram that illustrates how the electrical systems in an electric vehicle are isolated from each other. There are two main isolated systems:

1. 12-V automobile electrical system
2. High-voltage system based on the battery bank

Each system has its own battery charger.

The figure below shows an alternative method of charging the 12-V battery using a power converter/charger that operates from the high-voltage battery bank. In this case, the battery charges as needed from the high-voltage bank during use.

The series-wound motor allows many wiring options that produce the same direction of rotation. Series motors are also called Universal Motors because they will actually run on AC or DC. If you reverse the applied polarity to the motor, it continues in the same direction. Changing the polarity of both the armature and the stator at the same time causes the motor to continue in the same direction. The only way to reverse a series-wound motor is to change the polarity of either the armature or the stator, but not both. This is why a reversing contactor is used to change the polarity of the stator winding to create bi-directional operation. Note that this is not necessary when a standard transmission is used because it has a reverse gear.

Ametek wiring diagram for a Oreck XL21 600 ECB

I cannot find a wiring diagram from where I am located right now, but I do know that the black wire coming from the power cord goes to the top side of the motor when you have it laying upside down with the cover off, and it will go to the tab towards the back of the vacuum. Sometimes they put a black dot beside the tab and if that is there you put your wires from the power cord on those. You will also have two wires coming from your light bar in front and the white wire will usually have a piggy-back terminal that your white wire from the power cord attaches to as well. If there are no black dots beside the terminal tabs the white wires will connect to the bottom terminal on the opposite side from the black power cord wire. It will usually be on the lower side of the motor as well. The black wire from the light bar will go on the remaining terminal tab as there is usually only three tabs on the motor. I will check back later this week to see if this has helped you and if not I should be able to get a diagram this weekend.

Wiring diagram

Hello,
First check the cord to make sure you have continunity throw both leads, check them at the cord reel, there are 2 wires hooked up to it, if not then the cord is bad. Check the swith also, the next cause would be the speen control mounted on the motor, part #04416342, sells for around $85. If your motor checks ok, then it most likely the speed control, they go out quite often...Thank you

I have a clarke bench grinder model 1002. I have a light that I would like to attach into the wiring though the grinder wiring in it's base. The light has two wires, and the grinder has a ground that...

Attach the white wire on your lamp to the white wire on the grinder.
Attache the black wire on your lamp to the black wire on the motor side of the switch.
This will give the lamp power any time the grinder is turned on.
You can put a switch inline of the black wire to the lampp and it will allow you to turn it off when not needed

OR

You can attach the white wires together and the black ones before the switch.
If you choose this way you will need a switch as the lamp will be power all the time.

How do you replace the top shell of the Rainbow D series? It doesn't look like the wires can be disconnected without cutting.

To replace the top cap of a D4 Rainbow vacuum:

Remove the separator.
Remove the 4 screws on the bottom.
Pull the bottom off around the foam tank gasket.
Remove the next 4 screws.
Carefully pull the wiring up through the middle section wire hole.
Remove the top cap 4 screws.
On the bottom of the switch there are 4 fingers, one on each corner.
Push the fingers towards the center of the switch and push the switch through the rectangular hole
Pull the wire through the middle section and the top cap to give you as much loose wire as possible.
On the long sides of the switch near the wires are 2 small round holes with small semicircular tabs pushed through the sides of the switch assembly. These tabs hold the wire assembly in the bottom of the switch. Very carefully push a jewelers screwdriver between the switch body and the wire assembly on each side simultaneously to release the tabs and pull the wire assembly from the switch body. BE VERY CAREFUL. Do not pull the wires hard. The wires are held in the wire assembly by small friction clips. They are not soldered or attached except by the friction clips. These friction clips fall out very easily. The twist in the wires alone will pull them out of the friction clips. So hold onto the wires in such a way that they cannot twist free. If you loose a wire or two, you will have to push them back in and reset the friction clips. This was a challenge of dexterity. During factory assembly, The wires were probably pushed one at a time into the bottom of the completed assembly. You could record the position of each wire and replace them as the factory did. This was the most difficult step as the switch came apart very quickly and without warning and the wires very nearly separated from the switch assembly.
Remove the old top cap from the wires and replace it with the new top cap. A 3rd hand may come in handy.
Push the wiring assembly back into the switch body the same way it came out.
Push the switch back into the top cap.
Reassemble the vacuum.

I need a wiring diagram for a rainbow d4c

Are you talking about the power switch. The new power switches have 4 wires sautered to the power switch, where the old ones have 6 wires that slip in and lock into the power switch.

The blue ones are for your power cord, and the black ones are for your vacuum motor, and your power nozzle plug.

Secure one motor wire and one power nozzle plug wire to one of the black wires out of the new switch, and secure the other two, to the other black one from the power switch. It does not matter which ones that you match together. Secure one of each of the power cord to the two blue wires from the power switch. It does not matter which one of them goes to each wire neither. It is AC so power goes both ways.

Use twist on wire nuts to secure the wires to each other, and put some electrical tape around each of them, after you secure them securly with the wire nuts.

It is best to secure the cluster of wires to each other with a pull tie, after you are finished wiring everything.

If you have any more questions let me know. I am a Rainbow seller, and a Rainbow expert also.

Thank you,
Ralph

Nutone Scovill 350 will only turn off if unplugged

Some units have an on/off switch on the power unit itself. Check to make sure that is not turned on. Unplug your power unit and remove the 2 low voltage wires (not the power cord itself) . The low voltage wires start at the unit and run throught your home and attach to each hose inlet. They are usually attached to the unit by simple wire terminals or wire capped to small wires coming out. Just unlug the terminals or unscrew the wire caps and pull the connections apart. Plug your machine back in. If it still comes on the problem is the relay or circuit board/switch/ relay assembly inside the unit. If it doesn't come on with the low voltage wires unattached then you may have two wires touching somewhere in the low voltage wiring.

Need proper wiring connections inside unit, where they have pulled apart from squeeze connectors.(Wiring diagram needed) Can someone E-Mail this to me? Fritz (an ''old'' mechanic) Folks I have talked to,...

Fritz , thanks please confirm... there are likely more than 2 leads from the motor??
I have not seen or worked on the Tristar CXL as it is very new.You will have a high low function but:

Should the power head function at both speeds or only hi speed

How many connectors pulled apart ?

Are the leads fastened onto the motor or are there push on male terminals on a terminal bar beside the motor with leads running off a shroud.
How many leads are on the switch itself....
Either way the wiring pattern will be the same, for all components it will just be a matter of which half of the motor harness connects in which terminal, if you wire it in reverse your speed switch should just function backward. The question is, is there a simple rocker switch for hi low or is there a circuit board type with a speed control on a mini board. If your power head functions at both speeds it will connect from the cord or rewind, prior to the speed switch. If it should only run on hi speed it will be tied into the hi speed half of the two speed switch.
So leaving your green ground out your pattern would be: black to 1 side of rewind to main switch to motor and head together and then remaining back to opposite side of rewind to cord.
Please confirm a bit more info as posted...
