If you bought this mower used and did not change the oil and air fillter or even looked too see what the oil and air filter looked like that could be part of your problem what ever you do when you buy a used mower always change the oil and air filter make sure you are lubed up good and the mower can breath then go from there to your spark plug if it is a used mower change it is better safe then sorry got to keep that sparky sparking. Then if the problem continues think could the lever for lowering and raising the blades sliping and causing the blades to get to close to the ground if not. After all of this it would be a good time to call you nearest pro for some advice not to fix it because if they are anything like the ones around where I live they will try to help you figure out what it is just by what you tell them over the phone before they will want to see it and charge you anything.Good luck.

Could be something jamming a blade or belt. With the engine OFF and the key OUT make sure the blades and belts all move freely by hand. Clear out all grass and c**p from the blade and belt areas. You may have to remove the blade deck to do this - instructions are in your manual or download a manual from the Husqvarna website. Good Luck!

Make sure the "engagement pulley" assy. is moving when the blades are engaged. This can sometimes "freeze" and not move to tighten the belt. You may also make sure the cable is intact as well. These have also been known to brake inside the housing and even though the lever moves, the cable does not pull. These are just a few of the common issues you may want to check. Hope it gets you in the right direction.
