Your set might have an internal, user replaceable fuse; it would be worthwhile to remove the back panel after allowing the set to sit unplugged for several hours or overnight, then check for a board that seems related to the AC cable. If you can locate this, check for a fuse that is removeable without desoldering anything. Fuses can die from metal fatigue (flexing and shrinking as power is applied or removed) and replacing a fuse once is OK. If it blows a second fuse, then it's time to find competent technical help or consider replacing the main power board on speculation. This board is normally separate and likely easy to remove. Check with Sony to find if they have a repair program or what the cost of replacement is if they don't repair them. If you can accomplish this on your own, expect $75-$150 US. If you will need a tech to do the repair, add another $100-$150 to the parts cost.

Could be anything! From a main board to a power supply. I recommend getting service on it from a authorized sony service center. If standby light doesn't appear at all for any given time, then it maybe the power supply.

Where is the reset or fuse on the lc391eme tv

The fuse is located on switched mode power supply board. If the fuse has blown the set will be dead no standby led light on front of set also when you plug the set into a power outlet you should hear the relays clicking. if you don't hear the clicking then the fuse has blown or another part of the power supply has failed and will require service.

Relay clicks when applying power. Yellow light comes on. TV is dead otherwise. Power supply is outputting +5, 12, and 24 volts Mainboard (3647-0282-0150) has +5 and 12 volts always applied. Checked...

Amber light on means standby voltage is high. IF amber light does not go white when power button is pushed the its one of two things.
A. No power on command from main board. Usually labeled PS-On. Should go high from 3.3v or maybe 5volts. If not present Main is defective.

B. If the ps-on line is going high then your problem is a defective power supply.

Sharp Aquos 65" LCD: LC65D64U DEAD no power

To get the accurate values to all the pins and test points, you have to download the repair manual to this set by internet. If you wish to get some details about the voltage charts, check the site linked here. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up previous posts there, either by its left side bar, or view it in Timeslide option.

No power on Hatchi p42h401 allready replaced power supply

IF you got a good board and a lot of replacement boards aren't good the only other thing that would make the set dead is if you have a bad main board, if your able to pull the back off and test the either 3.5 or 5 volt standby voltage if its ok then look at the PSON voltage, it should be at a half volt and go to about 3.5 when the power button is pushed..if you don't have standby you have a bad power board yet, if you have standby but no PSON the main board is bad, if you have PSON its back to the PS as being bad...Good luck!!

Sansui SV-3715LCD, I switch off the unit at the wall socket, when I plugged it in the next day there was no power, not even the LED indicator light on the front of the LCD activates. I checked the plug...

Continue to check--every set has a standby power supply that powers the remote circuit to turn set on and it runs 7/24 if set is plugged in.

Never a good idea to turn set of by taking the AC away--it can cause micro problems(micro processor).

The standby will provide voltage to the micro (low like 3-5 volts) and if a mechanical relay is there it also supplies it.

if NOTHING try to isolate that area in the main supply as they usually combine the standby in with the main power supply.

You may need to search for a schematic with GOOGLE (good luck on that) but if total dead begin there.

Worst case if problem is in standby you may have got the eprom or the micro when this happened

If further questions I will try to help.

Power is not working complite seat dead

hi,
check the power cable first. also the power at the wall out lets.
if ok the you have to check the input ac fuse of your receiver. your recever has problem with its power supply stage, that's why there is no standby light also. fist of all check the fuse. then check the standby transformer is it faulty or not. the system will power up if the standby transformer is ok. standby transformer is a small transformer near the mains transformer. check these things first, if u need any further assistance feel free to contact me through fixya.
ok

Sony tv wont turn on, standby light just flashes

check for an open resistor on the power supply, it is actually a fusible resistor, (white) if open, then check the converter, some sets have two separate and some have it as one. it will be on a heat sink on the power supply. if shorted then check for a shorted horizontal output transistor and repair cold solder joints on the horizintal drive transformer which is the real cause of this problem
