sounds like a simularproblem i had, a 5cent piece got caught in the drain solenoid (just between the drum and solenoid) , i had to lift up the front and spin the drain pump fan, on empty, then disassemble and clean pump assy and remove 5cent piece, hope this helps.

Check the brushes in the big motor- I think you can do that without removing the motor. If they're used up, replace them. If that doesn't fix it, there's an internal fuse in the motor which is not replaceable, but in emergency you could bridge this with some wire and see if it fixes the problem. If it does, you should get a new motor otherwise without a working fuse it might one day take out the rest of the washing machine, and you house fuse!

Programmes appear to be taking excessively long time to complete even with the quick wash button pressed - 2 hour 15 min for 30 Cotton wash cycle. Is this right or is there a fault? 30 Easy-care seems to be taking almost as long.
