I had this problem click on your brush menu and top right of that menu you will see a small icon with an arrow pointing down with 4 lines next to it, click on that then click Reset All Locked Settings. This worked for me
Is the stylus the exact same one that came with the tablet? ( I own this tablet.)
If it is, remember to place a AAA size battery in the pen. To open the pen, simply grasp the upper and lower dark purple parts, the ones on either side of the lighter purple band, and pull them apart from each other. Place the battery negative side on the spring, twords the tip of the pen, and the positive side under the small metal hook. Replace the cover, taking care to align the sheet metal hook with the pen clip. (there is a notch there for it to fit inside of.) Now tap the pen against the tablet to wake it up. It should work perfectly. If it already had a battery in it, remove and replace it to restart the pen. If it still doesn't work, try a fresh battery.
My i608 pen stopped working today. I've had it for a month. The mouse was working fine, but the pen wouldn't work at all. Then I left the mouse on the pad and used the pen while the mouse was on the pad, and the pen started working again. Now it works even without the mouse on the pad. Did it re-establish the radio connection or something by doing that?
Anyway, saved me the $25 replacement cost.
I have the same problem. It happens after I'm not using it for 30 minutes or more. I don't think it's the battery or the tip of the pen because I've bought it a week ago. The only thing that work's is restarting the computer. But I hope that it's not solution!
Try and replace the battery with a new one, sometimes batteries in new devices might be flat. I would also advice to get latest drivers for device from manufactures website and reinstall them. If that don't work I would guess pen might be faulty. See if device is still on warranty. I hope this helped. Good Luck
No software aside from drivers are necessary. The Genius Tablet comes a configuration menu you can test. If you don't have this, you can get it for free from Genius' website.
You need to hold the pen close to the tablet to allow it to detect movement. I hold my pen <1cm from the surface. You may want to check the batteries.
