WHERE IS THE DRAIN LINE LOCATED

Hi,

This drain line you seek is in the freezer under the evaporator, behind the false panel. This clog can be found in the s curve of this tube behind the unit in the back by the compressor. Dust will collect in this tube and cause the slow drain or clog you seek. Good Luck

The bottom of my refrigerator fills with water beneath the storage bins. It is a top freezer model.

Remove the food and the ice maker from the freezer ( if equiped ) . Remove the rear freezer panel . Using a hair dryer , start in the middle , below the coils , defrosting , until you see the drain hole . Use hot water to help defrost the hole . Once water starts going thru the hole , use a small hose inserted into the hole , and blow thru , to remove any unseen debris in the drain line .

Water buildup in fridge

Same problem ...same fridge, different serial though.

Drain tube is blocked, but you'll have to take off the back panel inside the freezer, and look at where the drain tube is (usually centre).
the plastic/surrounding opening of the drain tube in our case was starting to rust out, allowing the leak to persist.
special silicon sealant worked for about 1.5 years, but the insert that is inside the freezer should be replaced.

no you can't get an insert they're not available

We are not sure what the tube coming out the back of the refrigerator does or where it goes for sure. I'm guessing it's a drain or cooling for the fan motor but still not sure. Can you help? Thanks (GE...

If you are refering to the 3/4 " tubing , it's the defrost drain hose from the drain trough to the drain pan under refrig . If it's the 1/4 " tubing , that goes from the water valve to the icemaker .

I have a GE TBX25PAXCRWW top mount freezer model. It is leaking water from the light switch. I would assume it is a blocked evap line. Do I access it from the insde of the freezer or outside.

Your problem is a clogged defrost drain . This is accessed from inside the freezer section and by removeing the rear freezer panel . Use a hairdryer to defrost the pan , under the coils . Also , the drain line for your model , is located behind the refrig . So , you only have a short area between the drain hole and drain line , to clear . I would suggest blowing thru the drain hose behind the refrig also , to make sure it is clear .

GE refrigerator tfx27zp or 25zp or 22zp not sure.

The drip pan is located under the front of the frig.
FIX
open both doors, remove the panel that is across the bottom of the fridge( there are release tabs over the left and right front corner areas close to the hing sides

after removing the panel you should see a tray that slides on rails under the fridge

remove the panel and inspect to see (use a flash light)if you can see the drain tube

I believe your drain tube is freezing up somewhere inside the frig

If you can determine where this drain tube fishes up through the back inside wall of the frig

remove all of the trays and observe the back panels there should be some type of collector tray

near the frig light Some models have a hot bulb to do the defrost

I suggest that you tun frig off with both doors open take a hair dryer and blow hot air where you think the drain is located to melt any ice and look down in the drain pan to see if it starts draining

Hope this helps

Good luck ( ps cal ge customer service and give model number I bet they have a design poblem

If they do they may have a work around

God Luck
