On these, only the 2 rear wheels are the gear wheels. You will just need to replace the tires on those with the rubber ones if you choose to go that way. Good luck!

The Peg Perego Gearbox is the item that would make a clicking noise or grinding noise.
There are two different types.
One is a cross shape and another is a pentagon shape.
If you contact the folks at http://www.shopjandl.com/ they will be able to tell you what type you need. I get all my parts from them because they help me figure the problems out.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: how do i change the
remove the center cap of one of both of the rear wheels, then use a 13mm wrench on each side and loosen the botls then pull the tires and axle out, then remove the red plastic pin at the front of the dump bed nad the two black plastic pins at the rear of the dump bed, then lift up the green plastic piece and this will reveal the motors and gearboxes, you'll have to remove the two screws that secure the gearboxes to the frame and the wires that are connected to the motor, then remove the two screws that hold the motor to the gear box, then do this in the opposite order to reassemble
