Ok I just pulled up a schematic of that dryer…I have worked on this one several times before, There actually is no way to replace the belt from the rear, have to squeeze your arm through the front and re-install the belt and pulley. I’m sorry I am not more help on this one but I have one or two scars on my arm to attest to the fact it’s a pain changing the belt on this model.

Please feel free to comment again if i can help you again in any way :)

Replace belt

You can order a replacement belt if you know the make and model. Best to have a helper when replacing as it is hard to hold everything in place single handed. Are you sure it is the belt? Need to lift the top and remove the front in most front loaded "simple" dryers.

Is their a picture diagram of how to replace dryer belt on maytay dryer model LDE9824ACE?

Maytag belts are counter intuitive. They give me trouble even though I've done hundreds of them. Your model should look like the one in the picture below. I assume you know how to get to the belt but if not there are 2 screws at the bottom of the front panel you remove. Then lift the bottom of the panel up and out and it will come off. You will have to undo some other brackets to get to the drum

The belt goes on 'upside down' on maytag, meaning that the tread faces up. You should be able to see where the old belt was riding from the marks on the drum, just make sure it doesn't slip into the groove. Put it back together and undo the panel on the back, you should see this.

That should be enough to show you where it goes. Pull the pulley over to release the tension and align the belt as shown. Replace the cover and enjoy your dryer.

Cheers

Here is a diagram from kenmore corp. that should help you out
Maytag Dryer Belt Routing

route4.gif
This is the most common belt routing found on most Maytag brands clothes dryers.

Since you will have everything disassembled to change the belt, this is an excellent opportunity to vacuum out the cabinet to remove dust and lint and perform preventative maintenance on your dryer. When replacing the Belt is is a good idea to also change the Drum Support Rollers, Drum Glides, Idler Pulley and Clips. All of these items are easily changeable when replacing the belt. The upside is that your dryer will operate like new.

Maytag clothes dryer cannot get to the pully, Is there an easy way to remove the panel, I need a diagram

Unfortunately you'll most likely have to remove the whole back panel. But I have no idea because you need to tell us which model you have!
Maytag has made dryers for probably over 60 years, there's more than just one model!

Replace dryer belt

Pull the front panel off, remove the top screws and tilt top back. Rout the new belt around drum at the old wear spot with the grooved side against the drum. Next remove the back access door and rout the belt around the idler pulley and motor pulley. There is only one way to do this and get proper tension on the belt.
Also, when you order the belt, ask if it has a belt routing diagram on the belt package.

I believe the belt on my maytag electric dryer model LDE412 is going out. How to I get to the belt to remove it for replacement? Through the front of the dryer or the back?

Remove the front panel(s). and you will be able to remove the top panel, which will give you access to the top of the drum and be able to replace the belt. There should be a small pulley at the bottom of the dryer where the belt attaches to, as well as around the entire drum.
