Question about Dell Gx-520 Intel Pentium 4 2.8Ghz Desktop Pc- 1G - Gx520/2.8P4/1/120

When a computer starts up there is usually a POST signal or Beep that indicates all is well (One Beep).
That is standard on PC's and not always used on Portable Computers. More than one beep or successive beeps in a row can be alert of trouble with the CPU, Motherboard, RAM, etc.

Tips for a great answer:
the beeps ate called post
Then what happens does it restart ? or just wont boot up ?
A bit more information please.
Not sure what you mean by 'when the hard drive beeps
does the hard drive start when you turn the laptop on
(at which point a do the beeps occur a single beep isn't unusual) and it stops when you turn the hard drive off - a beep then would be unusual.
I suspect you don't mean that, & if the laptop is working fine otherwise then I wouldn't worry about it or do you mean something else completely?
make sure the ram modules have secure seatings also check all power and data leads attached from motherboard to hard drive the same will apply for your graphics card
hope this helps
