If you pop the front cover off the ice maker you will find a screw with a plus and minus on it. Adjust it and that will cut the water fill down and should solve the overfill problem. If the ice is not dumping spray the tray with Pam and that should solve the dump problem.

Your icemaker tray has an update for the water flowing over the tray. You will need to call a qualified LG technician to get it replaced. Also, the tray is twisted because it binds itself against the hinge pin on the left side. To stop this, spray some cooking spray oil in the left hinge pin and it should unbind itself and return to normal.

I am an attorney near Philadelphia who is considering initiating a class action against LG related to the defective design of their ice maker. I have clients in different states who have had problems that LG fixed, but the problems re-occurred after the warranty expired. I've been advised by mechanics that leaks are inevitable based on the design. Apparently this is a design that LG had used years ago but had discontinued for a while because of leak problems. I'm usually on the defense side of product liability cases, but this seems to be a common defect. If you are interesed in such a suit, feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. The icemaker use an avaporator system with an heatinc coil and a fan to release cubes.
In your case either the heating coil or the fan in the icemaker must be replaced.
parts can be purchased from partselect.com.

There could be many reasons for this problem. Because you said the ice maker stopped with ice in the trays leads me to focus on the ice maker alone. I will try to get some photos and links when I return. Sea Breeze

The problem with the ice melting points toward a cooling problem in the freezer. This could be caused by several different problems. Dirty condenser coils below the refrigerator could be contributing to this problem. I recommend checking and cleaning these coils if necessary.
Check the door seal on your freezer. A leak through the freezer door seal may be allowing warm air to enter the freezer and melt the ice.
Make sure that your temperature control is set properly.
If these tips do not help resolve the problem, it is likely that you have a component failure or a sealed system problem. The thermostat could be bad. You could have a condenser or evaporator fan problem. You could also have a defrost system failure that is causing your cooling problem. A weak compressor would also cause this symptom.
