Say someone amongst your friends to send a friend request to you and by accepting his request your block will be removed. Otherwise wait for 7 days. It is due to too much requests lying unaccepted. Facebook keeps a friends and friend requests sent ratio, if the ratio does not maintained, your account put a block.

Taken from the Facebook help page: "If you've been prevented from adding friends on Facebook, it's likely because many friend requests you've sent recently have gone unanswered. This may be because you've sent friend requests to strangers, or it may be due to other behavior that Facebook members have reported as unwelcome."

Check the terms of service and make sure you're not breaking them. If not, it could be that your account was hacked. Change your password and security questions, then wait out the time.

Facebook tends to mark friend requests as spam if you send out too many per day. Only send out approx. 5 a day to be safe.

once you have sent a request it can't be unlocked. you have to wait until the person you have tried to friend rejects or accepts your request. if they accept you can go onto there profile and un-friend them.

I know it's frustrating and this already happened to me and this kind of problem only occurs when you sent a friend request to a person who reported you as spam. As per Facebook policy any account marked as spam will be blocked for a certain period of time. There is no resolution to this other than to wait for the time frame provided by Facebook as to when you can access this again. So, next time it would be best to include a message for every friend request you send which includes your complete name so you won't be marked as spam and that your account will not be suspended.

Just use "Facebook Search" to find the person you know and then click on the "Add as Friend" button to the right of the searched listing. A friend request will be sent to that person. Once they confirm that, they will show up on your Friends List.
Please note that privacy settings may limit your ability to see the "Add as Friend" link for some users. Also, once you've sent a friend request to a particular user, you cannot send another..

If you can't add a friend on Facebook, they may have not accepted your "friend request" yet. In some cases, the person may have accidentally hit the "block this person" link.

In other cases, they may have purposely blocked you.

The most common reason is that they are busy and haven't seen your "friend request" yet.

Sometimes, people respond to this a couple of months later.

You may want to track down they're actual email address and send them a quick, friendly note asking to "please friend me on Facebook. I sent you a friend request a long time ago."

If they don't respond, they're either too busy or they may have blocked you for some reason.

Don't give up.

Look at their friends and send them a messages asking if they know why the person won't friend you. (One time, I was the friend that wouldn't respond. I was in the hospital for 10 days!)

You never know why, sometimes. Some people just don't respond.

Either the friend would have made the settings as such that people who he knows only can send a request or you would have sent many requests for friends which are still unanswered..

Try to send the message from your account. For posting wall post to have to first become his/her friend.
