Cd not detected in my samsung cdr/dvd com...

-   OK, this is pure nuts! I have sound for anything that has to do with "Windows" except Windows Media Player! I re-installed the media player, still didn't work. Thought it was the stereo... bout jumped through the roof when windows rebooted! This is the same burner that I have, and when I was snooping around on sound properties, it said that version 5.1.2535.0 of the Philips driver was working, but refused to update. The install date is 2002. I cannot make copies of CD's or any files from my PC because it says there is no disk in the burner, though there already is.

-   I have a compaq desktop with XP2 with a cdr/dvd combo drive manufactured by Samsung . The problem here is when ever I try to record/Burn a CD it says to the effect that there is no cd inside the drive and to insert a writable cd even though there is a writable CD inside it. I am told to reinstall the driver that came with the CD/DVD Samsung Combo Drive. No one gave us the driver cd. Is it possible for you, Sir, to send me by email attachment a copy of the Appropriate Drivers needed. My E=Mail Address is christinehendricks@att.net Thanking you in anticipation of your kind reply.
