NEC LCD1712 Monitor Not Working

I am having a rather peculiar issue with my NEC LCD1712 which I am currently using as my secondary monitor. It works perfectly fine as I boot up the computer. It displays "welcome to windows!" and all that jazz. However, once I log in, it reverts to just a black screen. I believe it says "no signal input". I am not sure when it started, but I noticed that the display of my primary monitor was shifted over to the right for some reason. I started messing with my graphics card's software "Catalyst Control Center". I used the "restore factory defaults" option and it rendered my NEC monitor black. Thank God my primary monitor was just fine and I was able to fix the image shift later. However, now I cannot for the life of me find a way to get my secondary monitor back up and running. All of my drivers are up to date. I have tried adjusting the resolution and refresh rate of the monitor. I have tried duplicating the displays and making adjustments with my primary monitor. If I only have my primary monitor plugged in on startup, it will behave the same (display up until the log in screen and then blackness). I find this problem to be both peculiar and extremely frustrating. If anyone out there has a solution, it would be greatly appreciated. Here are some specs: Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit System Model: Vostro 230 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E7500 @ 2.93GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.9GHz Memory: 4096MB RAM Graphics Card: ASUS EAH5750 Series Primary Monitor: DELL E2210H Secondary (Faulty) Monitor: NEC LCD1712

Why did my screen turn light blue lcd1712 ?

Please try to connect your computer to a different monitor. It may be that you're experiencing the notorious "blue screen of death", but you will be able to determine whether that's the case by trying another monitor. Please keep me posted. Thanks!

How do i factory reset my NEC LCD1712 Monitor?

Here's some tricks I would try...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.
Good luck.

Why is my monitor not displaying past start-up and how can I fix it?

You say that the problem occurs when you connect your secondary monitor up either solely, or as primary, but it also occurs when you have only the primary monitor connected Therefore I think the problem is inside your computer box not the monitor or cables.
I'd try another graphics card (the specs I have say the default the graphics is 1024MB NVIDIA GeForce GT220, but then they also say Win 7 Prof -, either to the built in one (if your m/b has on-board graphics facility), or a different card (which may be the same model). Have a look in the BIOS too.

NEC LCD1712 Problem

Please try your monitor on a friends computer.

This is a very odd problem so you should make sure it's being caused by the monitor.

If it is the monitor, it's a tough one. It could be a bad main board, or a bad LCD panel.

I would check your warranty status. It sounds like it may need to have the signals checked on the board to determine which of the two parts are causing the problem.

White out

Take the monitor back where you bought it from.

Sounds like the main board or the LCD panel have gone bad.

Nec 700 crt

Not a solution at all, but I'll post that I have a NEC MultiSync FE700 monitor that I purchased back in 2001, and have I been using the monitor since that time. Lately the monitor has been showing signs of 'acting up'. I read on the Internet that CRT monitors generally have a working life of about six years. It may be, depending on years of use, that the monitors are just reaching the end of their life.
