Question about HP DeskJet 940c InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Paper keeps feeding thru w/o printing. Prints a couple of lines jumbled (not what's on screen), throws it out and takes more paper.

Try uninstall the printer drivers and download then install the latest version. This blank paper printing with random "symbols" are caused by incompatible drivers.

I keep getting the "our of paper" light and people cannot print, although there is paper in it. I have tried adjusting the paper in the tray, but same results.

That is the exact behavior the lights show when there's a manual feed print job trying to make it through the printer. Any chance you have a print queue active that has a hung job in it for the manual feed? Before throwing it away, at least put some paper in the 'multipurpose' tray to see if anything prints.
The manual suggests that all lights will stay on solid if service is needed, and since it will print startup pages, it shouldn't be the paper transport.

Samsung ML 2010 won't paper feed

Lift up the front of the machine a couple of inches. I put a small bo under it. The paper then feeds slightly downhill.

Worked for me.

I have a Dell 946 printer that is a couple of years old. It has started printing crooked on the pages. I have done the alighnment and that did not fix the problem. Can you help?

probably no much you can do the correct the problem because The problems that users encounter while using a Dell printer
varies with the model. However the common problems all Dell printer models suffer from are their slow speed and faulty paper feed mechanism. Quality of prints varies from one model to another, but most of the models do not produce prints having very fine qualities. A Dell printer is particularly notorious for its poor and faulty feed mechanism. They tend to cripple the papers or take in large number of papers at a time and print parts of documents on each page. They keep on generating messages indicating lack of paper, no matter the paper is being supplied or not. Such a problem makes the printer absolutely useless

When printing Glossy paper 260gsm, on my HP 4280, the paper appears to be slipping in the feed roller and the image prints too far down the page. Any ideas ??

Take the back cover off, and you will see the feed rollers in there. Use a soft cloth and some all purpose cleaner and gently clean the rollers, not too much liquid on them, lat dry and clean again for couple or three times. You feed rollers have become soiled and are slipping on your paper. I have three hp printers and this must be done every couple months or so. I think I found these instructions on hp.com if I remember right.

Paper jam- now prints with lines

Paper jams are often caused by bits of paper left in the printer. If you can't get to it by opening any access panels, then the printer may need to be disassembled. Check all your access panels first. If that doesn't do anything, visit Staples or an Office Supply Store like that, and purchase a pack of Printer Cleaning Paper. The one I have, the paper is sorta folded like an accordian, and you get some spray to spray the paper. Run that thru the printer according to instructions a couple times. Are you able to remove your printhead? Check that for buildups. Lastly, how long have you had it? Canon printers offer a one year warranty. Good Luck!

Lexmark X73 print/paper problem

Same problem here. Went thru a few tests with Lexmark but didnt help. They next said it would be best to get new one since repair cost would be higher. Thru front door I do see a spring that moves freely. That must be broke. After their help they sent email for 20% off.

Printer tells me to load paper and it already is loaded.

It sounds like you have the printer set on Manual Feed. This is common when you are hand feeding single sheets like resume paper rather than using the tray. I would suggest looking at the default settings on your printer object on your computer or maybe there are settings within the 1020?
