Question about Asko 24 in. 1805 Built-in Dishwasher

Open Question

I have an Asko 1805 dishwasher, when on, water is trickling in from a vent on the right hand side and will not stop. I have tried to rest the program via control panel with no success. The 4 functions on the right hand side have red lights on and do not change. Is there any way I can reset dishwasher to start new cycle or anything I can do to fix this problem?

High water level is often in the pan under the dishwasher.

  1. Unplug or turn off breaker.
  2. Remove kick panel.
  3. Remove water from pan.
  4. plugin/turn on breaker.
  5. watch for leaks.

If the arm spins easily by hand, but won't spin when operating, that points to poor water delivery...
1) check the strainer. Not just the holey one you can see, but there might well be a very fine mesh filter under it ~ if so, remove it to clean it (it can appear clean, but still be clogged with transparent cellulose fibres). Try running the machine empty without the strainer/filter fitted. You should hear a difference if the filter was causing the problem.
2) you might have a weak impeller. After a while the plastic impeller on some machines just wears away, leaving insufficient fins to move the water, this can be accelerated by e.g. broken glass stuck in the pump. Impellers can also slip on the motor shaft; the motor's spinning but the impeller doesn't. This means removing the machine, turning it over and removing the pump for inspection...

All the lights are flashing on Asko 1805 dishwasher

Hi, You need to absorb the water in the overflow basen of the Asko dishwasher's and then push and hold a button to reset the error code...flashing LED's or turn the power off momentarily. You need to remove the lower kick plate and get to the basin with a wet-dry vacuum or sponge etc. Good luck. Let me know if I can assist you further. Asko 1805 - inside light is on, none of the operation (front panel) lights turn on

Quite simple after all. If the main power button on the top left hand side of the door is pressed in (on). Whenever the door is openned their is a light in the DW which comes on like the fridge or oven.

Keeping the power button off turns the light off. For us this is good as we usually only close the door fully (catch catches) when we run the machine. This way we are not wasting electricity.

Water Connections

In the US dishwashers are usually connected to the hot water supply. Although the ASKO 1850 I believe has an in line heater. Using hot water supply will reduce electrical useage.

Interestingly we use to have ASKO washer and it suggested only using cold water hook up as it heated its own water. I guess this was a feature if one's laundry area does not have hot supply, but it made no sense in CA to heat water with electricity.

Asko 1805 dishwasher detergent door does not despense the detergent during the wash cycle. At the conclusion of the dishwasher cycle the door is still closed. How do you repair?

First make sure that nothing is blocking it.. when you load the dishwasher...next make sure your dishwasher cycle is NOT on rince and hold ( water spraying on a plate symbol) as this cycle will not open the despence door..

last you can remove the screws in the door check the vax motor and or check if you are getting power to the despencer ( no power replace control)
power to vax motor replace despencer motor

Hope it helps if Not let me know more about you problem..I can help

Seems to run through cycle with no water. The dishes do not wash, all the lights seem to do the right thing

The water supply should be connected underneath your kitchen sink. Check to see that the stop (water valve) is turned on it will open to the left and close to the right. Check that and let me know. I am a master plumber so I should be able to help you solve this we just need to check a few things first. Let me know.

Thx

Detergent door will not close on Asko model 1805 dishwasher

Here you must change complete detergent box. Or the electronic gives consantly power to trigger. Most likely one of these two.

DISHWASHER

Make sure you have water coming to the dishwasher. Next check your dishwasher float. Make sure it is not sticking. If not you could have a problem with your fill valve. Check for voltage at the fill valve if you have 120V then you need a valve the solenoid is defective. Replace it.
