It could be broken but it seems more likely that the batteries are faulty or not making proper contact or theres a fault with the power jack or battery wiring
Total failure with no attempt to come on is quite rare. I would try another set of different batteries and if that fails try an external power supply. If the external supply works then the problem could be that the external jack has lost the internal battery connection, or just plugging the external supply in and out might restore the connection.

SOURCE: Can't transfer photos on new computer

You may download the current versions of all (free) Nikon software from here.

You might want to consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Nikon Transfer or Picasa.

Nikon Coolpix L 810

It would help to know if the lens extends when you turn on the camera. Assuming it does and that you have made a setting error rather than a functional issue; reset your menu settings. If you do not have a copy of the L810 instruction manual, you can download it for free at http://cdn-10.nikon-cdn.com/pdf/manuals/coolpix/L810RM_CH(11)03.pdf. Go to page 65 and follow the reset instructions. If you still have the problem, contact Nikon Service at 1-800-645-6687 between 9AM and 8PM EST, Monday through Friday for a repair estimate and instructions.

I have to reset the date and time on my Coolpix L810 everytime that I change the batteries. Why do I have to do this?

The L810 has a small internal long-life battery for maintaining the date, time and other settings. This battery should not be confused with the batteries you use for general camera operation. Like all batteries, that memory back-up battery has a finite life span. You will need to have a camera repair man replace it.

The nikon l810 suoort change of the lenses

The Nikon L810 does not have interchangeable lenses. You can buy accessory lenses to fit on the front of the camera's built-in lens, but you cannot remove the lens itself.

New batteries put in but L810 camera says battery low and then turns off

hello, either your 'NEW' battery's are not as new as you had expected,or you have either a camera or the main power input terminal's broken, corroded (due to a previous leaky battery)or have what is known as 'DRY SOLDER' joint's,and are impeding the current flow, have your camera checked by an electronics workshop, hope that helps, cheeres.

Nikon coolpix l810 lens frozen

hello,do remove your battery, have it checked by a precision instrument to ascertain the state of charge, also have it what is known as 'dropped' checked (place a heavy current draw to establish the conditions of the cells)as simply putting a voltmeter across, does not stress the cells enough, this is the most common complaint,do also check the conditions of the connecting terminals to the battery, substitute with a known good battery/and vice versa with your battery on to another appliance with an identical power rating.hope that helps, cheers

Nixon coolpix l810 will not turn on just replaced batteries wondering if batteries are the issue

When switching it on you have to be sure you remove the lens cap beforehand as an error message will be displayed. If you do not see an error message and the cap is off, you might not have the updated firmware version 1.1. Nikon's website states:
"When some new AA lithium batteries were inserted in the camera and the camera was turned on, the camera sometimes failed to function. This issue has been resolved."
