You possibly have a slow or unstable internet connection. I recommend you call your ISP (internet service provider) and ask for them to send over a crew member to check the hardware.

I can not connect to face book from my home screen on my iPad. Yet I can connect through safari. I'm thinking it is something in my settings

Just a thought as I just experienced this myself: I wasn't aware that the applications on my ipad run in the background. So when I tried repeatedly to connect - each attempt was opening a new log in to Facebook. Once I learned that I had a number of background apps running - multiple times, specifically about nine Facebook entrances - I closed them all and was able to log in immediately. I'm not sure how something very simple (turning all these apps OFF - slipped by me.) If you wish to check: double click on your top / screen side, power button. Running apps will either have a red 'X' - older ipads, or have a 'mini screen' (each for all open apps) that you can 'swipe' off. On mine it's "up". This may not be what is causing you trouble but it was an instant 'fix' for me. Hope it helps - let us know? Thanks & good luck.

Facebook is running slow

If when you view facebook and it is slow to respond to your actions, go between pages etc this can be caused be any number of issues.

1) It may be the facebook website is overloaded(to many visitors) and is running slow. There is really nothing you can do about this other than to voice your frustration at Facebook by contacting them. You will have to wait and try again at another time to see if it is running faster.

2) Your internet connection is experiencing high latency. You can check your internet connection by trying other websites. Are they going slow as well? If not, then you can really rule this problem out. If you do however experience slowness at other sites then you may be experiencing a degraded internet connection. I recommend a couple tips at this point,

--If you are downloading files from the internet, or have other computers or devices using your internet connection this can use up all your bandwidth and slow down your connection. Try disabling any other devices on your network to see if this helps. This can especially be the case if you are downloading music and videos online. If you have a wireless home network and it is unsecured(no password set on wireless connection) then other people like neighbors may be using your connection. You will need to set a password on your router so you can stop unauthorized access to your network.

-Try to power cycle all of your network devices. Do it in this order, turn off your internet modem, router and computer. After 10 seconds turn on your modem, after another 30 seconds turn on your router and after 30 seconds turn on your computer. Now try and see if your internet connection is improved.

-Check network cables and splitters. Make sure all of your cables are plugged in and firmly. If you have cable splitters, go ahead and unscrew the cables and screw them back in firmly.

-Lastly, contact your Internet Service Provider(ISP). Your ISP may be able to resolve the issue on their end or send a tech out to investigate the degraded internet connection.

3)Your computer may have performance issues. If a lot of programs are running on your computer this will obviously slow things down. Try stopping any additional programs and see if this helps.

4)One other additional step you can take is to try and clear your internet browser cache. In Internet Explorer go to Tools > Internet Options and click on the new window make sure you are on the first tab. Click Delete under the Browsing History section. In FireFox go to the Firefox button at the top left(newest version) and hover over History. Click on Clear Recent History and make sure all boxes are checked except Site Preferences. Once you clear the cache be sure to restart the browser.

I hope this article was informative. You may find additional articles that will be informative!

Regards,
G33k

Keywords
facebook is running slow, facebook is slow, facebook not responding, facebook actions are slow, facebook is very slow

Cannot connect to facebook

Point your web browser at

If another account comes up, log out of it by clicking the down-pointing triangle in the upper-right then clicking "Log Out."

If you then still can't log in to your account, click the "Forgot your password?" link located just below the password box on the login screen.

If you're getting an error message, what does it say?

I have the full screen version of bejeweled blitz (20.00). It has been disconnected from facebook. I get the game on my fb account but i want my big screen version back. Please advise how i ando this....

I'm also a Bejeweled Blitz fan! In Facebook, there's a download button at the bottom of the Bejeweled screen in Facebook that will allow you to download the latest PC version of Bejeweled Blitz which will also connect to Facebook. If you already have a registration number for the program, you should be able to type it in during the installation process.

When you try to run Bejeweled Blitz from your PC Desktop, you should see a "Connect to Facebook" button in the lower center part of the screen. Mine automatically connects to Facebook unless I'm having troubles with my wireless network or the Bejeweled Online game is experiencing problems with its system. Then I may need to click on the Connect to Facebook button.

If all else fails, contact their customer service department.

I hope this will help you get back up and running again in the full screen version. I love the game and enjoy it much more on the PC version that connects to Facebook.

Be sure to rate this post if you've found it to be helpful. THANKS!

Can not stay connected to facebook for longer than about 5min

If you have a PC try this test -

1. Click Start
2. Click Accessories
3. Click "Command Prompt"
4. At the black screen type "ping -t" and press enter

This will start a series of ping tests to the internet. You should see something like the following over and over again -

Reply from bytes=32 time=21ms TTL=244

Leave it running for a while. If you see the message below or indeed anthing else then it's probably nothing to do with facebook.

Request timed out.

If you see the above then your internet connect is dropping which could be the reasons for your facebook disconnections. You will then need to look at possible networking / wireless / router issues or call your ISP.
