SOURCE: Kenmore 90 washer won't drain

Check first drain line or water pump to see if they are clogged.
1. Clogged drain line or water pump
Check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine).
2. Water Pump
If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump.

SOURCE: How do you tell how old a kenmore Washer model # 110.82982100 is?

there should be a date on the same label... it will read the month and year such as 02 or something. it's randomly placed but it is the date.

SOURCE: Kenmore Series 80 Washer timer knob spins

Something in the timer came apart. Timer needs replaced. When in good working order, the timer should ONLY ever be turned clockwise..Reversing this could break it.

SOURCE: Wash cycle knob turns without controlling wash cycle

it's possible go to www.repairclinic.com and enter the numbers you have posted and it will show you what they are. I have the same problem. What I did was not pretty but it works for now. I broke a piece off of your part#387997 and simply turn my dial that way and then pull the center out to start the wash. Considering a new timer is close to $100+ and it works fine this way , well you know...

I have a very old kenmore washer, model 110.82984700, doing great until yesterday turned on and filled and now only makes clicking noise when turns on, nothing else. Is the cycle/timing knob need to be...

Quite possibly - assuming you can get a replacement unit.
Consult a local (or closest) representative to see if spares are still available, but don't hold your breath.

.how do you remove the water temp knob from this

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Kenmore-Parts/Washer-Parts/Model-11082873810/0582/0153200?pathTaken=

and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts. Look at the section on the console.

Next see the following for how to release the console for access to the knobs / switches.

Also see the following Whirlpool / Kenmore Service Manual for these washers.
