Step-By-Step, written so that even an extreme beginner can follow - sorry if it seems condescending to people who are more familiar with how this stuff usually works:
While you are signed in to your email find the icon near the upper right corner of the screen that looks like a little gear & click on it - there will be a drop-down menu that opens.
Click on 'Settings'. There will be a window that pops open .
In the left hand column of the new screen find 'Writing email' and click on it.
At the top of the screen that opens you will find text that says
'When sending messages'
Make sure that there is NOT a check mark in the box in front of where it says
'Save a copy of the message in the Sent folder' (If there is a check mark where you do not want one, click on it and it will disappear).
At the bottom left of the screen click on the SAVE button.
You should return to the screen you were on before clicking on the icon.
If this does not remedy the problem please post again.
Testimonial: "I want a copy of the e-mail to be saved in my sent file, so I don't want to uncheck the box to save message in the sent file. The problem is, I am actually receiving a new e-mail in my inbox whenever I reply to an e-mail, as well as, the copy in my sent file."
