Case tractor problems

My 1960 Case530ck loader backhoe starts but and then shuts off. It has a up draft carburator. What can be the problem ?

If it sort of fades out, slows down and dies, I'd bet on a float valve issue. If it quits cold, look for an ignition issue. Could be a bad coil. Heats up and fails.

either you have a short in the wiring, a loose connection somewhere or a bad starter, check for broken wires first and clean connections. then try the starter see if it turns with a direct connection to another battery

I have a dynohoe front end loader with back hoe after its warm it wont start seems to be to much compression. Is there a way to relieve compression.


Hi Richard:
Too much compression usually is not a problem.
May I suggest looking at the other side of the problem by checking you battery to make sure that it is delivering full power.
A "cheating" way of checking would be to connect jumper cables and see if it starts easily.

Radiator water in oil of my John Deere 310A backhoe. What steps do I take to repair.


You have either a blown head gasket, cracked block or craacked head. Major work ahead. Hopefully, the water didn't mess up your main bearings.
