The first thing I would ask you to check is: make sure it is the trigger that is leaking and not the safety valve which is right in front of the trigger (this is more common). If the safety valve is leaking the problem is most likely in the head of the gun (bad gasket / o-ring at the head). If it actually is the trigger, you should replace the O-rings, urethane ball, and seat in the trigger.

Good afternoon Hans,

There could be a couple of reasons for the leak. If the tool hasn't been serviced for quite some time there's a risk that one or more of the O-Rings in the trigger valve has perished. (When you're checking this, please be careful as there is a plastic ball inside that is easily lost....) if, this is not the case, let me know

Testimonial: "Hi, it seems like i found the problem. The trigger lifts a plastic pin that is fitted inside a small threaded metaltube. On the top of the tube is a seat for the plastic ball. The top of this tube must have a rubber sealing that seals when it is screwed into place? I think it is this sealing i miss. When the pin lifts the ball, the air streams pass the ball and out on the sides of the tube, and into some passage that operates the piston. If this sealing is missing, the air goes out at the trigger. When dismantled it came out som goo that can be a sealing of the wrong material that has turned into some snut-like consistense. The problem i have now is to determine which model i have so that i can order the spare sealing. Anything you know?"

That's the correct tool I beleive. start looking at parts 55 onwards. I'd order all the O-rings as A) the tools already in bits and B) once these start to go, they'll all go at once as they're so small. FYI make sure that you use Pneumatic tool oil. NOTHING ELSE as this could be the reason why it's gone wrong in the first place. Also, make sure that you get rid of the water in the compressor's tank every week this will help. If there's anything else.... let me know. Regards Alex

I looked at the pdf, but i dont think it is right. The trigger for example is much simpler on mine. My trigger looks like a pistol-trigger. I found a more likely, the nv65ac. or nv65ab, or nv65aa. But i see that the sealing is the same on all three, number 878734. How do i order this to be sent to sweden? Or maybe easier to order it here.

Morning Hans, what I'll do is get price & availability plus a postage cost and will be in-touch. I don't think it'd be a good thing for us to discuss addresses and payment here as it's too open. So, let me do some work and I'll come back to you.

Hitachi 45ab blowing air out of trigger

If air leaks thru trigger as soon as you connect airline, replace the vinyl ball under the trigger stem. If air leaks when you depress the trigger, replace the small oring on the trigger stem. If air leaks slightly from plunger in front of the trigger valve, problem is inside of the gun. Remove the head and pull the large circular plate. Replace the large outer oring. Good luck

Got a hitahi framing nailer with a bad leak out of the trigger. It will not fire either. Already have replaced the trigger and oiled regularly. Please help have too much invested in gun and local repair...

If you have an nr83 framer, there is a ball under the trigger pin that will cause leak (# 875645). However if the leak is actually just in front of the trigger (safety foot plunger), replace outer oring of the cylinder plate inside of the gun (#877316). The nr90 framer has a much more complicated trigger. If you replaced the trigger with a new one and still leaks, check if the two outer orings to the valve were not cut as you installed the valve. Good luck.

I have a Bostitch N80S stick framing nailer that leaks air from the trigger area. I replaced the entire trigger valve with a new single fire trigger to see if the old bump fire trigger was the problem

Remove the nails and take off the trigger to expose the trigger valve (usually part # tva6). Connect air and spray soapy water on the valve to determine if the air is leaking from the center of the valve or around the outer edge between the body and valve. If leaking from the center, could be defective valve or debris under oring. Pop out the valve and examine internal parts for cut oring or defect. If leaking from between body, you could have cut orings installing the valve. Make sure that there are no rough edges in the body of the gun. Bump fire or single fire happens with the trigger type not the valve. Bump fire trigger is usually black metal and single fire trigger is light color plastic. Good luck

My husky framing nailer leaks air around trigger

Leak around trigger could be trigger valve internal orings or orings on the outside of the trigger valve making contact against the body of the gun. Spray soapy water to determine where the air is leaking from. If air is leaking around the outside of the valve, most likely the orings were cut upon installation of the valve. If leaking from internal valve, most likely worn or broken oring; easy to fix if you have a source for orings.

To remove the trigger valve for service or inspection (take close-up photo of trigger area for reference ):
disconnect airline, remove nails, remove trigger retainer pin, remove trigger, remove roll pin /s holding trigger valve in place (use 3mm punch to remove retainer roll pins which are located in the body of the gun just above the trigger valve). With retainer pin/s removed and with gloved hand (under trigger valve), apply air pressure to gun to blow out the trigger valve (use lower pressure to push out trigger valve because it could come out with force.). With trigger valve in hand notice that there are two slots or groove cut neer top of the valve where the retainer pins rest, you will need to reinstall valve into body with slots aligned to retainer pins. Remove retainer pins holding trigger together to pull out internal valve. Good luck and post again if your have other question about the trigger valve.

Hitatchi nv45b2 trigger leaking

Air leaking around the trigger area could be caused by vinyl ball / gasket under trigger valve bushing or orings within the gun. Easy test, remove nails and connect air (assuming that air is now leaking around the trigger area). Depressing the trigger stops the leak, replace vinyl ball. Depressing trigger does not stop leak, move plunger b (plunger B, small shaft under bubber bushing next to the trigger valve) with your finger in then out to determine if air leak changes tone. If air leak changes sound or tone, then air is leaking past orings of the cylinder guide and/or cylinder plate and/ or the cylinder itself is scratched by debris where the orings make contact. Pull out the cylinder and examine the contact areas. If scratched, use 300 grit paper to smooth, if smooth, however, suspect the orings of cylinder guide (or cylinder guide is cracked). The cylinder guide is difficult to remove and install without causing damage to guide or cutting new orings when installing. Do not remove the guide unless all the other options have been checked. One last bit if information, I have noticed that some guns will leak air if the orings on the feeder piston do not fit snuggly. Make sure that leaking sound is not coming from feeder area (remove the basket and feeder/feeder pin/spring and pull out the feed piston, making sure that the largest oring is making good contact within the cylinder). Good luck with repair.

My hitachi roofing gun leaks air from trigger when not pressed

Two areas to check when air leaks from around the trigger. Rubber ball under trigger pin will cause air to leak, however when good side of the ball falls on the seat, air will not leak for a while. If air is leaking from plunger pin (just in fromt of the trigger pin), remove the head and pull out the cylinder plate to reveal broken oring (oring part # 876161). Good luck with your repair project.

Leak air for the trigger

Could be leaking from trigger or in front of trigger at plunger. Spray soapy water on area and determing exact leak. If from trigger pin, remove pin holding metal trigger (3mm roll pin) and check white plastic plunger for oring on groove. If oring is in place then check vinyl ball inside trigger valve bushing. Replace as needed. If leak is in front of trigger at black boot, remove head and replace oring on outer part of cylinder plate (donut shaped plate at top). Good luck

My hitachi nr 83a leaks air at the trigger

Often a trigger leak in the NR83A is caused by a bad gasket in the head #877-327. If this is improperly installed, cracked, or overcompressed it will cause the trigger to leak.
It is uncommon for the trigger itself to be the problem.
