Question about Dometic RM2652 Refrigerator

1 Answer

Stopped working... Power suggestions?

The unit just stopped working like there is no power to it. I have checked the power cord (even plugged into a different outlet that I know is good). The fuses at the back of the unit appear to be good. The fuses/breakers in the RV all appear to be good (not labeled correctly so I have tried them all).. It wont switch over to Gas (never has tho that is no doubt a completely separate issue). Everything else in the RV works fine with the exception of the furnace (may or may not be related? as the furnace stopped working at/about the same time). The fridge stopped working once before and was left for about a week and just randomly started to work again. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have a feeling that it's on the same circuit breaker.
I would suggest changing the breaker.

That was one of my original thoughts as there appears to be one breaker that doesnt seem to go anywhere (because its not working DUH lol wasnt quite as obvious until you suggested it :) ) any ideas/suggestions on where to go look to find a howto?

well i know it'll be a pain but is the furnace and fridge on the same side? If so can you trace the line behind the fridge. What a worse idea is a mouse or something got into the walls and ate the wires or something.

Yes they are on the same side... and no changing the breaker didnt fix the problem. So first thing tomorrow when the sun isnt on that side ill try the wire trace to see what that might find... Very helpful suggestions Thanks any other ideas Greatly appreciated :)

SOURCE: Circut Breaker trips

  • i have no experience with RV units but if it were in a house i would suspect a bad breaker or a problem with the outlet itself. breakers  only trip when the wiring is gets hot.
  • unless it is a ground fault breaker (usually on the outlet) then this would trip if the flow of electricity is grounded. ground fault breakers do go bad often.
  • i think if the refrigerator itself had a problem then it would be consistent (as far as it is pulling amps anyway). not work fine sometimes and not others.

SOURCE: Dometic RM2652 or RM2852 not working.

There is a factory recall on these refrigerators. Call Dometic 1800-544-4881 and give them your serial number and model number. Going through the same thing right now. On my Fleetwood Gearbox. Hope that helps. Robert

SOURCE: RV refrigerator works fine on AC power. Burns for 30 seconds on gas power then shuts off.

tap on the gas valve with a wrench, not too hard but not too light about 10 times, the valve is probably sticky from not being used,re-light and see what happens.

SOURCE: Dometic fridge inop on A.C. power

There is a fuse at the back of the fridge located near the compressor. You've done quite a bit of checking, so rathe than try to get into stuff, here's some quick info and a link to the manual for your fridge, which should help.

The control switches have to be set a specific way depending on what source is being used and the thermostat turned on when using AC power. Check item #3 Operating Instructions on Page 6 and the control panel switches on Page 9.

Here's the manual for your model, save a copy and print it out and take some time to review the section #3 Operating Instructions on page 6.

Possibly the installation instructions will assist in determining how it was installed in your RV, but usually the installers build around stuff, so you might have to remove some trim in order to get the fridge out, etc.

Hope you find this helpful and will you resolve your issue.

Euro-Pro iron 1600 watts jsut stopped working. No lights, power... any suggestions??

First check out your power cable.
Then if you can open, see if there is any fuse, checkout that.

And if still not fixed, then you should take this to a technician.

I have a Malibu transformer 8100-0200-01, all the lights stay on no matter what the switch position is in, even off. I have unplugged the unit and waited trying to reset but problem still exists. Any...

The digital transformer has 5 year warranty.
Otherwise plug power pack into cheap wall timer
http://waterheatertimer.org/Malibu-power-pack-stopped-working.html

Don't buy digital. This type timer can be easily knocked out with simple power outage.
Also bulb outages and cord problems and moisture and probably direct sun can affect digital more easily than analog.

Device appears to have no power. Power cord looks good, it was working the day before then suddenly stopped working... no lights indication of any power making it to the device.

This unit will not operate if it is plugged into a power strip - it must be plugged directly into the wall outlet. An extension cord may be used.

Stopped working

What stopped working? Does the unit power up? Is there no sound? Will the unit not alarm any more?

If it stopped working, did you check the fuse in the units' power cord or the vehicles lighter socket fuse?

If not sound, does all the other lights and buttons function? if so, is the volume control turned up?

New Power Cord Stopped Working

DO NOT use the HP power adapter that is 19V / 3.95A. That is too much power for the Scanjet, which is expecting 12V DC (and a much lower amperage). It's possible that hooking up this power adapter may further damage the electronics inside the scanner. If the second adapter has stopped working then it is possible that the internal circuit board has damage already and another adapter may not work. If you have access to a multimeter / voltmeter you could check for the 12V coming from the adapter. If you're getting the 12V, then the internal circuit board to the Scanjet is probably defective.
