Mouse not working on desk

The mouse will work on my clothes (dark surface) but not on my desk (light surface) any more. I have tried re-installing the device, changing batteries, and changing usb ports. i can't find the re-set button either on the mouse. model: G9-500F for A4tech.

There is little you can do other than clean around the sensors, and check the settings in control panel (if on a PC). It sounds like the sensor has lost sensitivity. I assume you have tried it in a different usb port or on another computer in case the voltage is low on your usb port? mice are so cheap it's just not worth repairing.

You probably already tried this.
Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it. This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly. If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch. Hope this helps you. Bud

Rotate the drum using the spindle on the side and wipe the drum's surface with the toner-covered flannel cloth to remove any dust, dirt and caked-on debris. The drum only rotates in one direction. Work quickly so as not to expose the drum to light. Hello..just moved my desk top to new desk..everything is fine..but mouse won t work..while it was unplugged i cleaned keyboard..monitor with soft cloth..can u tell me why my mouse won t work

IF it's a serial mouse (meaning green round connector) it's probably not plugged in correctly. Now these are not plug and play so you need to reboot your system in order for it to work. Try that.

When the mouse stutters, check the adapter plugged into the computer. If the little light on the adapter (labeled #2 in the picture) is blinking then you may have accidentally pressed the sync button on the bottom of the adapter or the mouse.

To fix this problem, press the sync button on the bottom of the adapter.
Next, press the sync button on the bottom of the mouse.

common causes; -dirty optics, clean red light area with canned air. -polished or shiny desk surface. optical mice dont like shinny surfaces. try a piece of paper under the mouse to see you need a mouse pad. - batteries low. even though they have some charge, low batteries can cause erratic behavior. as the mouse and base connect then fail, then connect, then fail. ect. often people dont realize how fast optical mice eat up batteries. check the wire to the base, sometimes these get caught in sliding keyboard drawers and get damaged. hard to see untill you inspect the whole wire( to the base anyway). Animals sometimes chew em up too. :) if any of the above help you. please provide some thumbs up. Cheers

What surface works best for cordless mouse

A flat dark surface works best. Glass won't work at all. I always prefer a mouse pad so that there are no imperfections on the table surface. Although, I did see a guy use one on his belly once.

Hope this helps.

Most opticals do not track on smooth white surfaces. It needs textures or color. Try pressing the "CONNECT" button on the bottom of the mouse and on the remote sensor.

Microsoft standard wireless optical mouse troubleshooting...

alright The Optical Mouse works on the "reflection" principle.
If it is only working on the T-shirt,the T-shirt Must allow it to read the Light Reflection with more details compared to the other shiny or smoother surfaces.
so,make sure you use some surface close to the T-shirt's.
and as you have been use that mouse directly on the deck surface, the little LED must have goten Dusted or the plastic arround the LED(light).
Hope that helps...
If the Mouse is in warranty **** any replacement if possible underwarranty.

Microsoft Wireless Optical MOuse

I've noted that certain mousepads do cause problems- it seems to be with the graphics on the pad- reflective/light/dark areas on the pad cause the different movement patterns. I'd guess a pad with a dull non-reflective & uniform color might be best.
