Not sure if the door was removed recently, if so you may have to try to put it back into it grooves properly - if not is may be the hinges but before you look into that option, check this video out and see if it may help you

HOW DO I LIGHT OVEN PILOT?

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

Your model number was missing digits so I used this manual:
GRP17WEWWW
http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=981380002.PDF
and if your unit is older this one:
http://genet.geappliances.com/DocSearch/Dispatcher?REQUEST=ShowPDF&FileName=49-8514.PDF

Automatic Ignition

The oven burner is lighted by electric ignition. To light the burner, press the pad for the desired electrical function and press the INCREASE or DECREASE pad until the desired temperature is displayed. The burner should ignite within 60 seconds. After the oven reaches the selected temperature, the oven burner cycles off completely, then on with a full flame to keep the oven temperature controlled.

Both the new and OLD units use a glow bar for lighting the burner. Most likely your Glow Bar has failed: GE PN: WB2X9154

The Glow Bar is item 316 this link:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=214914&diagram_id=20725728#d20725728

If you net search the WB ge part number you can save lots of money!!!!
http://www.amazon.com/WB2X9154-Gas-Range-Oven-Igniter/dp/B004H3XQPM

If the glow bar is glowing and you still do not get ignition respond here and we can go through troubleshooting.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Have a 1980s model oven model #EH4W4 .My problem is the burners work great but oven does not lite anymore when temp is selected.?

If it is a standing pilot the thermocouple has most likely failed. If it is electronic ignition the the igniter has probably failed. Is the oven plugged in to the wall outlet all the way or is it direct wired? Is it standing pilot or elctronic ignition? Really need more info to correctly diagnose

Electronic ignition system failed

electric ignition. Electric goes to ignition button, then to a spark generator, where upon a spark is produced. If any part of this sustem is wet, then it is shorted to earth. No spark.

How to light our gas cooker

Modern gas cookers use an electronic ignition switch rather than a pilot light to light the gas for cooking. This means you can light your gas cooker with the touch of one button instead of using several matches or a flint lighter. Of course, you still have the option to light the gas cooker by hand with matches or a flint lighter if the ignition switch does not work the first time.

1.Open the gas regulator valve by pushing it in and turning it to a low setting.

2.Push the ignition switch once.

3.If the gas cooker does not light on the first try, close the gas regulation valve for one minute by pushing in on it and turning it back to the "Off" position.

4.Open the gas regulation valve, set it a bit higher than you did on the first lighting attempt, and push the ignition switch again.

5.Light the gas with a match or a flint lighter if the gas cooker does not light when you push the ignition switch again.
