It is not pumping engine oil

You need a working oil pump to pump the oil around the engine. If the oil is not being pumped through, the oil pump has failed or there is a blockage in the lubrication system.

Most likely the oil pump has failed and needs to be replaced.

Nissan XTRAIL QR20 OIL PUMP NOT WORKING

New oil pumps will not work until they are primed . Pull the pump and remove the gears cover Fill the space around the gears with Vaseline / grease and replace the cover/pump. When the engine starts to spin the gears will move the Vaseline out into the oil galleys and create a vacuum which will suck up the oil. The Vaseline/ grease will disperse back into the sump with no ill effects. Ensure the oil pick up pipe is securely in place.

Oil pump does not work

Checlk the oil worm gear is driving the pump. If this isnt the problem then try the following:-

The type of oil pump fitted to these models is prone to getting blocked.
Remove the oil pump. The gear on top should turn freely, give the pump a clean and clean the oil pipe to the tank by removing the oil cap and blowing through with an air line. If the oil in the tank contains alot of dirt, empty/clean and replace. The filter on the oil is an open plastic cage type and often will draw large sawdust particles through it. Easily rectified tho.

Oil pump

oil pump is driven by the camshaft gear by an oil pump drive shaft located under the throttle body/intake plenum. the oil pump is located inside the oil pan/engine block.

Motor oil spewing out of the intake manifold of a 05 road king when it's running

"Spewing out of the intake manifold". Check you oil tank. If the level is really low, it sounds like the scavenge side of your oil pump is not working. If the oil is coming out of the intake that bad, the engine is full of oil.

The Harley oil system is a "dry sump" type of system in that the oil is not carried in the crankcase like in the Japanese bikes but rather in an external oil tank. The oil pump has two sections in it. A "feed" section to pump oil into the engine and a "scavenger" section to pump oil out of the engine and back to the oil tank. If the scavenge section is not working, the pump will pump all the oil into the crankcase but it cannot pump it back out. When this happens, the oil is blown out of the crankcase vent system and into the intake manifold.

You need to check the operation of your oil pump.

Good Luck

I have a 1997 Chevy Blazer that has oil, but no pressure

There's something you can do to check if the oil pump is still working screw off the oil filter and start it only for a few seconds if oil shoots out the pump is working if it doesn't the pump could be clogged or it lose prime if it's working check the wire going to the oil pressure switch may be broken.

OIL LIGTH

TRY TO REMOVE THE OIL FILLER CAP WHILE ENGINE IS RUNNING, IF THERE IS SPRINKLING OF OIL THAT YOU WILL NOTICE THEN MAYBE THE OIL SENDER IS NOT WORKING BUT IF THERE IS NO SPRINKLING OF OIL THEN MAYBE TRY TO REPLACE YOUR OIL FILTER IF IT IS NOT YET WORKING MAYBE THE OIL PUMP IS NOT WORKING TRY TO REPLACE IT,YOU CAN SEE THE OIL PUMP WHEN YOU REMOVE THE OIL PAN.
