Question about Acer Computers & Internet
It has a feature with blue keys that changes the letters that are typed once the blue keys are hit. My password types with no letters showing, so I have no idea what is being typed. I've tried every password I can, and I think I can't get my password correct because the blue letters are on, but since I can't see what's being typed, I can't correct it. Help?
Keyboard layout is as follows.
TOP ROW: QWERTYUIOP
MIDDLE ROW: ASDFGHJKL
If you're saying you just can't see the keyboard keys, that should help. If it doesn't, I suggest getting a hold of a USB keyboard other than the malfunctioning one you have now.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Hey I have an HP zd8000 also and I've experienced everything that you guys mentioned. What's a laptop without a battery if you can't take it anywhere? After two years, I got so frustrated. I researched HP's web site and came across a battery recall. I just got mines in the mail today (Dec. 1, 2008), and my notebook is portable again! :D They will ask for your battery serial number. While typing the serial number be sure not to mix up the letter 'B' with the number '8', or else it will show as invalid serial. This is the link for the HP Battery Replacement Program!
I hope this solves your problem!

SOURCE: Simply change my keyboard from typing numbers instead of letters..I.e. I'm trying to type yonkers and it gives me y6...I know it is a simple F6 or F2 function but I forget. Its been a while since I u
You need to press the NUM Lock key.
The NUM lock key is usually the same key as the ScrLk key but to select the NUM lock you need to press and hold down the Shift key and then press the NumLk/ScrLk key. A LED light will light up to indicate the number keypad is on.

I suspected your keyboard is already faulty. You might need to change it. Call the service hotline for the brand of your machine and tell them to replace your keyboard.
Note: If machine is under warranty no need to pay for the repairs.
