Where can i get the wingnut/parts for a Sunpak 6600DX Digital Tripod

I'm trying to replace the wing nut that holds the flip plate at angles. I have tried going to the hardware stores. Non of theirs have work to hold that plate steady. I tried buying a used one but didn't work. The seller said it had all parts... it was a lie..

You can probably buy them at Amazon.com...as I had to order the micro XD memory card from them last week. Fry's and Best Buy do not sell them anymore because they are outdated already. But I think you will have better luck with Amazon. Please let us know if they have them. Good luck.

SOURCE: i need a quick release plate? sunpak 6600dx?...

I called tech support at 973-627-9600. Option 6 is for tripods. If you give them the model info they can send you the right part. It was $9.95 and $4 for shipping.

Cannot find way to attach new Pistol Grip head

Often the less expensive tripods do not have heads that are removeble and replaceable. On the Sunpak 6600DX you have teken the head apart, but there is no provision for putting on a new one because it was never made to take one.

The wingnut has been undone and now will not go back in, it wont tighten at all. Any help appreciated!

You need to remove the screw from the black cap over the wing nut this will then lift off. There is a spring under there so hold the cap as you remove the screw and lift up slowly. There is a screw in the back of the wing nut to stop you from winding the wing nut out completely. This can partly wind out stopping the wing nut winding in. If the problem is more then that you'll need to take the wing nut and the plastic block it screws into out and take it to a local workshop to get it re threaded.

Broken screw on top and plate.

Go to the hardware store and get an "Easy Out" and the proper size drill bit. This is a simple procedure and the salesman or woman, can explain the process to you ... You may want to take the tripod with you.

Simple.

Thanks for your question.

Can't figure out how to straighten and level the camera

if you have lost a srew or wing nut, it will be loose where there should be one. set it up and then try to raise or move it around in one spot. iof it moves than look for a screw hole. the handle itself sets the rotation try unloosing the handle..

Need parts to repair pan handle

I just had this problem! I took it to Ace hardware and the guys helped me out, big time. I have a PH-358 panhandle and the same piece fell of during a shoot into some brush and dirt outside.

We (they) fixed it using a #6 metric bolt and butterfly wing nut along with two grommets (3/8 ID and 5/8 OD). It worked perfectly! Not only does it hold the handle together but you can tighten or loosen the handle as well using the butterfly wing nut.
