Question about American Standard Heating & Cooling

Open Question

I have an American Standard Model TWV030B140A0 air handler and need a coil. Our current coil, they detected leaks and said they cannot find a coil for us. There HAS to be one out there somewhere. Anyone know of any good and reliable sites I can check out for a new/used coil that would work? Thanks so much!

SOURCE: cleaning coils on air handler

i use a good medium bristle wire brush with smaller brisstles. gently scrape the surface of the intake side of the coil. clear a section about 6 inches square, then put a drop light on the other side of you can see light clearly through the area you cleaned then you can get by with what we call surface cleaning. continue to clean and vac with shop vac and brush, gently .do not crush or mash fins. dont get cut they are sharp. the only coil cleaner i would use is evap power self rinsing cleaner that has no alkalie or acid to eat up the coil. it disolves the algae on contact and rinses with drain condensate. after a good brush and vac you can gently use a water hose on med spray to flush thriugh the coil .put down towels, use a shop vac and **** out drain with a vac as you do it.unless you are impacted with lots of crud you can usually clean in place. if they are to bad call a servvice company and have them pump it down and pressure wash and sanitize it. with proper filtration a coil should never need cleaning, ever. get a price on an aprilair filter installed if you pay a pro to clean coil. filters last a year and no part to replace. filtration down to 3 microns and filters last a year at 42 bucks a piece. at least consider going to p[leated filters if you dont upgrade to a pro filter system. good luck, wear old clothes ,you are going to get dirty, but that is the joy of home ownership.

SOURCE: air handler motor stopped working

Check the capacitor before you replace the motor. It's a common problem that's easily fixed. Make sure the fan rotates freely.

What's wrong with your current AHU? Any Ruud dealer can assist you. Most 4 ton units work with r-22 or 410a. As a side note, most parts in an air handler can be replaced unless the case is rusted thru.

Wiring thermostat to a American Standard 5ton air handler I don't have the schematics Model twe6a300ab serial# e23176168 year 6-1990

On the thermosta there are terminals, what you need to do is look at the old thermostat that you are replacing and make a note to yourself; what color of wire goes to which terminals,, Rc, R, C, G, W, Y, O, ect.
This is because the installer can use any color of wire. Then just hook the wires up to the same lettered terminals. American Standard should be standard terminal setup.

Need a replacement coil for a Coleman Evcon air handler Model # AH12L10NA. I am losing freon at a rapid pace. Leak detector indicated leaks in the indoor coil in the air handler. PLEASE HELP! Thanks in...

This may be a bigger issue than you want to tackle alone, generally speaking the coil will have to be ordered from a dealer, as most wholesalers will not sell to the general public. Further, this will require brazing the new coil in, evacuating the system, installing a dryer and recharging.
