Fixing belt full displacement error (Displacement
direction is unknown.)
Full displacement of the fixing belt was detected, but the
displacement direction (front, rear) was unknown.
1. Forgot to clear the counter at the fixing belt
replacement -> clear the counter
2. Check physical relationship between the fixing belt
position sensor 1, 2 (PS71, 72) and the sensor flag
A. In case that both sensors are blocked from light
A-1. Faulty fixing belt unit -> replace the fixing belt
unit
A-2. Faulty fixing belt displacement control drive ->
replace the displacement control drive assembly
B. In case that both sensors are not blocked from light
B-1. The connector on the fixing belt position
sensor 1, 2 (PS71, 72) is physically removed,
or the cable is disconnected -> connect the
connector, or replace the harness
B-2. Faulty fixing belt position sensor 1, 2 ->
replace the sensor
B-3. Faulty fixing belt unit -> replace the fixing belt
unit
B-4. Faulty fixing feed driver PCB -> replace teh
fixing feed driver PCB
B-5. Connection error of drawer connector (J8023)
-> clean or replace drawer connector
B-6. Short-circuit or open-circuit of harness
between fixing feed driver and DC controller
PCB -> replace harness

TRY THIS:
E004 Fixing unit failure
Cause: (1) Shorted/broken wired main thermistor
(2) Shorted/broken wired sub thermistor
(3) Broken wired heater/blown thermal fuse
Solutions: (1) Turn the power off and remove the fixing unit from the machine.
Measure the resistance between the fixing unit connector J301-1
(FSRTH) and J301-2 (GND).
If the resistance is not within the range between 350 W and 520 W
(room temperature of 20°C), replace the fixing film unit.
(2) Turn the power off and remove the fixing unit from the machine.
Measure the resistance between the fixing unit connector J302-1
(FSRTH2) and J302-2 (GND).
If the resistance is not within the range between 360 W and 530 W
(room temperature of 20°C), replace the fixing film unit.
(3) With the fixing film unit removed, if there is no continuity
between the fixing unit connectors J303-1 (ACN) and J303-3
(ACH), replace the fixing film unit.
(4) Replace the EPU board.
(5) Replace the ECU board.

E002 Error code details Heater temperature error (fails to reachspecific level; inadequate increase)


0000　The temperature of the fixing film is as follows:
1. has exceeded 100°C, but does not reach 115°C within 1 sec thereafter.
2. has exceeded 140°C, but does not reach 150°C within 1 sec thereafter.
3. has exceeded 160°C, but does not reach 165°C within 1 sec thereafter.

Main cause
　The fixing film unit is faulty (i.e., the main thermistor TH1 has poor contact, or the fixing heater is faulty). The main power supply PCB is faulty. The DC controller PCB is faulty.

Caution
　To clear the error, execute the following in service mode: COPIER>FUNCTION>FCLEAR>ERR.

Action
　See the description for E003. E003 Error code details Heater temperature error (abnormal drop; low-temperature detection)


0000　The main thermistor reading is lower than 140°C when paper is moved.

Main cause
　The fixing film unit is faulty (i.e., the main thermistor (TH1) has poor contact or has an open circuit; or, the fixing heater is faulty). The main power supply PCB is faulty. The DC controller PCB is faulty.

Caution
　To clear the error, execute the following in service mode: COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>ERR.

Action
1. State
　Turn on the power switch, and clear E002/E003. Thereafter, turn off and then on the power switch. Does the fixing heater operate?
　NO: See "The fixing heater fails to operate."
2. Wiring
　Is the wiring from the DC controller PCB to the fixing film unit normal?
　NO: Correct the wiring.
3. Fixing film unit, DC controller PCB
　Try replacing the fixing film unit. Is the problem corrected?
　YES: End.
　NO: Replace the DC controller PCB.
