Question about GE AJCQ08ACB Air Conditioner

1 Answer

I have a GE window unit. I do not hear or see any water draining.. and I do not hear any change in the way the unit runs like I used to when it would blow really cold air. The air is cool - but not cold ... I have been cleaning the pop in/ out filter... what do you think?

May need to wash out the out door coil. Normally spray through rear coil at about a 30 degree angle. try not to spray water directly into fan motor. If unit is freezing up it may be low on freon. if it is real hot out you may need to run 24 hour a day. High indoor humidity will affect its output also. could have weak compressor. check temp drop accross indoor coil. Shoud be 20 - 30 degrees in most cases cooler than room temp.

Hello, some window units do not use a drain tube instead they use the condenser fan blade to scoop the condensate from the bottum of the base pan and splash the condenser coil to keep the condenser cool and also evaporate the condensate. Most of the time you can hear a "swishing sound"

Water inside unit, you can hear it when running. I know it's suppose to be normal in high humidity, but the unit was making a loud noise the other night so I had to turn it off. sounded like the fan

The unit is not draining properly. Make sure it is leaning back in the window. If you put a level on the top of the unit, it should be leaning back away from the window about a half bubble. If it still doesn't drain after this, the drain may be stopped up. The drain will either be in the bottom of the unit or on the back. If you try to clean the drain hole be careful not to use anything that will poke a hope in the rear coil. You can use compressed air.

Why is ice continuing to form at the bottom of our GE frig?

these units have a defrost drain that gets plugged.
you need to remove the ice from the freezer section and try to use a "turkey baster" to force water into the drain hole. it may be frozen and need to run hot water to get water to flow thru the drain.
sometimes you have to remove the drain from the back underside of the unit to clear the line. try the hot water inside first and if you cant clear the drain, then go to the back and remove the restriction from the drain line.

GE dishwasher GSD4000J00WW filling but not running at start of cy

Okay this is hard to believe, but it WORKED!!! I had not used my washer for a couple of weeks. I called the help line and the lady told me this ridiculous approach to solving the problem. It was so far out there I wasn't even going to try it. Thank goodness I did. She says this could lubricate the motor or seals or something, which may need it after not being run for a certain time period. Get acidic acid or also called sour salt. I found some lime-salt in the salt section. It stated acidic acid as one of the ingriedients so I said"good enough". put 3-4 ounces in 1 quart of hot water. LET IT DESOLVE COMPLETELY pour it into the washer and let it sit for at least 30 minutes. She said the longer the better. (I let it sit for 30 minutes,I'm not that patient) Then try to run it empty and no detergent. I had to mess around with the dial a couple of times, but sure enough the darn thing started running!! So she said to run it thruough a full cycle empty and then go ahead with buisnness as usual. So as funny as it sounds, try the acidic acid/sour salt. Good luck.

Have a ge ac in window unit asto5 model leaks inside just recently . connot find any plug to pull for draining outside excess water inside ac cabnit . does it have one? been running this ac all summer and...

No drain plug but this model should have a SLINGER RING AROUND the end of the fan blades which picks up the water & sling it on the back coil which it is so hot & evaporates to help get rid of excess water .. So as for the water running inside, the drain channel are plugging up, from the front coil to the back, & only need to add clorox bleach to the front coil area for now , to kill the slime or mold slowly blocking the channels..But first, TURN_OFF UNIT! (certain times of the year, mold & slime grows rapidily and thats what the bleach for..!

GE UNIT - AC/HEAT PUMP

Hello Cheryl, what they are talking about is a drain. As air conditioners run they collect moisture from the air on the evap(in cooling mode) or condenser ( in heat mode). This moisture will run off the part and flow into the tray. In the cooling mode, the moisture is slung onto the condenser to help cool it down, thus be more effective. I always recommend once a year remove the unit and clean all the coils and oil the fan motor. Household oil will work for this. During this cleaning find and clean out the drain. If it gets clogged that water can run back into the home. The PC pipe is sometimes attached to the unit to direct the water to a designated place. These units are common in hotels and they use the pipe to keep the water from dripping on the guest as they walk under the windows. Hope this helps.

Under Counter Water Filter Leaking after Use Sometimes!

Got it! Your return line is clogged!

I have the same dispenser, and there are 3 tubes attached to it. One of them (black on mine) goes from the faucet to the drain pipe coming down from the sink. That line can get clogged over time with stuff coming out of your sink. You can probably disconnect that line at the drain pipe end and **** oput the connection and as much of the hose as you can get too., Reattach the line and you are done. Fire it up.

On my unit, we hear a dripping sound in the drain when the unit is charging. If you don't hear the dripping sound after using the unit, that line is probably clogged up!

See ya!

GE Max Dishwasher won't drain

I had the same problem with my GE Max model gsd6260k. I could hear it trying to drain and some small amounts of water going into the sink drain pipes but it never emptied it all there was aprox 1/2 inch of water that's 1.25 cm aprox for the metric lovers... lol
What i did was...Clean out all debris that was there.
There is a small basket (aka screen) just behind the bottom arms just a tad to the right i lifed it up enough to get a turkey baster into the opening (drain?). I coudn't seem to find the screws without taking all the bottom apart to get the basket out, as the water line going up the back to the center arms is there. Then i used the baster to remove water and i kept squeezing the air forcefully from the baster into the hole. This help, i don't know if it was a clog or what but i let the tub start to fill with water and then hit the start button again which makes it drain out. It was definately draining faster. when it finished there was no more water in the bottom of dishwasher.

GE Portable Airconditioner - Model APN10AA Serial # GG509122

Ours was leaking water. After taking the covers off, cleaning it,and draining all the water out, I started getting the same problem with the light coming on every 7 minutes. I actually added some water to the system till it was too full and then drained it out through the plug. The light still came on every 7 minutes until I turned the unit off and then unplugged it for a few minutes. I plugged it back in, turned it on and reset the temperature. It seemed to reset itself and kept running normally. BB
