Yes. Remove the handle and look behind the plate, you will see a brass housing (valve) and a plastic insert inside it (cartridge). It is most likely leaking from that due to a bad seal. DO NOT try to replace the cartridge without shutting off the water or 'you're gonna have a bad time'.

Seem to have water leaking under shower into storage competition ment, tried caulking only happens when shower is on and someone is in it very frustrating

Very often happens for a number of reasons

Bad caulking around the shower base and the base drops with the weight of the occupant allowing water past the caulking.

Crack and bad seal on a wall tile.

A split in the base itself which opens up with weight and you can't see with the base empty.

A leak in the pipes behind the wall from the mixer unit to the shower head.

Split pipes or fitting to the drain.

Best way is a full tear down, refurbishment and start anew :>)

if you have a water stain on the ceiling below your tub then you have a water leak. There is no easy solution for this. You must get to the underside of the tub in order to watch the jets when the tub is full of water to isolate the leak and then have it repaired by a plumber.

I'm not aware of any problems with non moen replacement parts being the cause for a water hammer problem. Start with the simplest and cheapest correction which is using a moen replacement cartridge. If the water hammer persists then you may have to install a water hammer arrester in the plumbing system. This is basically a shock absorber in the plumbing system to stop the effect of water hammer. An arrester will cost you around $10 to $15 at your local plumbing supply shop. If you are not comfortable soldering copper then you will want to hire a licensed plumber to complete the work for you.

I had the same type of problem with an older toilet in my house. It developed a water hammer when it shut off after filling the tank. I replaced the fill valve with a generic universal replacement for about $10 and it stopped. Again sometimes the simplest fix will work. Let me know how it works out.

Leaking

Make sure you fitted the rubber O ring on the end of the shower flexible hose. That will seal the water pipe.

Bathtub drain leaking

Since two plumbers have tried and failed, I'm assuming that the problem is none of the obvious ones. I have two ideas for you, the second being the most effort, but also the most likely.

(1) If you have ceramic tile on the walls around the tub, sometimes cracks between the tiles will develop or the grout itself will develop leaks (become very porous). This would not necessarily show visible cracks, but could appear to be a drain problem since it will only leak during/after use. For this, you would need to patch the grout where needed and seal it well.

(2) You may have a leak in the piping under the tub. Since you mention a light fixture downstairs under it, it is likely that you can "create" access to the piping. This would require cutting a section of drywall out immediately under the drain and approaching the light fixture, about a foot wide should be enough to give you a decent look. Cut the drywall carefully so you can use the same piece to close the hole, with a little spackle, when you are done. Once open, turn on the water and watch to see where the leak is coming from. At that point you (or a plumber) should be able to identify what to do.

If your older house is "really" older and you have plaster instead of drywall, do the same thing, except you obviuously can't use the old plaster to fix the hole when you are done.

Shower leak

this may not be a grout problem . I want you to run the shower and check the shower arm behind the wall plate and the toe tester(spout ) for water leaking behind the wall.If you dont find a leak than their could be a problem with the rubber membrane under your tiles.
